With a Q? The Joystiq Game Show - 001: Sonic Bonanza

Aug 1st 2011 4:59PM (Joystiq)
You can't believe how happy I was to hear all three of you guys back. Not to say I don't like the new Joystiq show, it just isn't the same fun show as the old ones. I now have a podcast I can look forward to again.

On a side note, I am VERY disappointed with you guys on how little Sonic knowledge your guys have. I'm not a big Sonic fan and even I knew about 90% of the answers. Also one last thing, technically wouldn't the final question on the Sonic triva answer have been Amy The Hedgehog, I have never head her call that, it has always been Amy Rose (and according to Wikipedia early on Rosy the Rascal.)

When I saw that Freddy was going to be in MK I was about ready to finally go out and buy it, then I saw it wasn't Robert Englund and I went back to my zero interest in buying it...

1.5 million daily Netflix users are on Wii

Jul 15th 2011 10:06AM (Joystiq)
@Stevetrop Man of Mystery
So are you trying to say that the 1.5 million Netflix users who are accessing streaming on the Wii daily needs to be multiplied in order to get the "true" number of how many people are using it... Sounds like Sony math there.

If 1.5 million are using it daily, then I'm pretty sure it close to 1.5 million in general who use it all month long, people are not switching off each day like a kid between divorced parents. Most people use Netflix every day or at least a multiple times each week.

Nintendo is just trying to make their service sound better by saying "daily" if they truly had impressive numbers they would have come out and said X many people use the Wii for Netflix, like what Microsoft did back in 2009 when they hit their 1 Million "Subscribers" were currently using Netflix (not daily, but TOTAL) milestone.

@dcfox
Opps you are right, I grabbed the wrong number, US is just 42.1 million, still a drop in the bucket when you hear that only 1.5 million use it.

Doesn't seem so impressive when you take into account that there are over 87.6 million Wiis sold in just the US....

Sonic Free Riders hits Games on Demand

May 25th 2011 12:27AM (Joystiq)
Wait, so I get to pay $50 for a (at best) meh game that would cost me only $30 or less if I go to a store to pick it up.... Someone really needs to tell MS they need to price these games more reasonable / competitive.

November Xbox Live Marketplace schedule: Noble Map Pack for $10, Crazy Taxi and Hasbro Family Game Night deals

Nov 11th 2010 2:29PM (Joystiq)
So the deal of the week isn't that much of a deal, Hasbro Family Game Night retail version is $20 and you get Connect Four, Battleship, Yahtzee, Boggle, Sorry! and Sorry! Sliders. You save $10 if you just buy the retail version. =/

They should have had them at $2 each.
