Racists Totally Freak Out Over Idris Elba Playing Norse God in 'Thor'

Dec 20th 2010 4:01PM (ComicsAlliance)
Kuru's right, there also weren't any Movie cameras in Norse Mythology so this is bullshit they made a movie out of it.

Plus, I'm pretty damn sure that Anthony Hopkins wasn't a Norse God either. I demand that when Hollywood makes a movie based on a comic book based on Gods that don't exist to make sure they don't offend racists.

Of course, movies based on true events surrounding Native American, Asian, Arabian, or other non-caucasian races should always cast caucasians to not confuse racist idiots like Kuru that think that the only reason great actors like Kenneth Branagh got a part was because its "token".

Exploring Eberron: Neverwinter nightcaps

Aug 28th 2010 6:33PM (Massively)
Hmm. Cautiously optimistic at this point. Cryptic has a history of making shallow MMO's that have a very short life in regards to "replayability".

The best part of NWN1 wasn't the out of the box mission, it was the toolset. NWN2 forgot this completely and focused more on the brand being what they hoped would make the game sell versus putting out a product that didn't have the polish of a first-stage beta release.

My fear is Cryptic will do the same, hoping enough people blindly buy it and that they can integrate the same "mission building" topical toolset they use in City of Heroes but with D&D skins.

While I haven't read anything to support this, my bet is that you'll have to log in to a central server, and "submit" your missions for play. No realms or campaigns or DM's but just a map/instance made in their toolset that is more or less a private "raid".

If the above is the case I won't at all be interested. Bioware not being tied to it for the 2nd time makes me nervous, Cryptic being behind it makes me cynical and it being touted as a competitor to DDO instead of an homage to NWN1 makes me downright disappointed.

GTTV revealing Bad Company 2 campaign this week

Been playing the demo of this a lot lately. Very addicting so far. Looking forward to seeing the full release.

Review: MAG

Feb 16th 2010 3:38PM (Joystiq)
I just picked up MAG this weekend and I fully agree with the review. It's a great game in theory but most of it's flaws relies not on the game but more the reliance on a good team. So, really, it just makes me sad I don't have friends that are better at FPS :)

Truthfully though, as good a game as MAG could be, I see myself running out of steam soon simply because of the stacked odds I'm facing. Again, entirely something on my shoulders as I just don't have the network of gamer friends good enough and on a schedule where I can reliably play well.

I think the one point that may keep me going is that if you're a good medic, it makes life a lot easier on you as from what I've seen, the good squads on your server will be inclined to want to group with you / friend you which has already worked out well for me.

I think really this is where I'd love to see console FPS go versus the more 1-vs-1 FPS mentality. I absolutely love the fact medics can be lead scorer for doing a good job or that fulfilling objectives gives you recognition versus it usually being the guy that found the good sniper spot.

At any rate, if anything, it's forcing me hang out with better players.

The only negative thing I'd say is that grenade spam is awfully persistent however, I can't think of any modern warfare FPS that doesn't have this issue.

Issues with DLC downloads for Dragon Age: Origins reported

Nov 5th 2009 6:21PM (Big Download)
I'm having this issue currently.

Took forever to get the Promo box on the BW social site to verify the codes I was given were authentic which was frustrating.

2 days into verifying and the DLC continues to have issues downloading (continually the downloads fail), installing and then finally showing up as active. I've only successfully gained access to the ring DLC and am still waiting on both the Deluxe Edition DLC and Pre-Order DLC to be installed.

Still, the DLC issue aside, the game is incredible. It's like playing in an epic movie. So many incredible touches to the game that make it incredibly immersive. If I have to wait on some DLC, I can stand it since its had no real impact on the experience of the game so far.

HP ProBook 4310s hands-on

Jun 25th 2009 6:41PM (Engadget)
Heavy? Get a Netbook or Air if you want light. If the only annoying aspect a review can come up with is it requires more daily workouts than lifting a latte and a manpurse full of Wired Magazines around, don't even mention it.

I dig the less than "popular" look. Steel/Gloss W&B is the new rolled jeans people.

First legitimate city capture in Warhammer Online

Apr 6th 2009 6:27PM (Massively)
Great job on the Capture. That's a hell of a lot of work both in PVP, PVE and general organization. Well done.

Never mind the trolls, they spawn at a higher rate whenever WoW's not equipped.

The Digital Continuum: Five criminally unused MMO settings part 2

Apr 6th 2009 12:23PM (Massively)
Good list, I'd totally dig a Weird Western MMO.

Also, I'd love to see a RIFTS MMO based on the Palladium RPG universe from the 90's. That world has so much content and character choices it'd be incredible to see it brought to the MMO stage.
