I haven't read all the comments about this but I hope to god no idiots think that Halo is coming in any way, shape or form to Sony's machines nor Nintendos. MS owns all Halo properties, not just publishing rights, but the whole universe and Bungie signed it all away to them way back after Apple dropped the ball on making it for the Macs. As far as Bungie making a game for the PS3 don't expect the PS3 version to be better in any way to the 360's version. With Bungie, my guess on this, is the 360 will be the lead platform and even if both are developed at the same time the PS3 doesn't hold any advantages to the 360 but disadvantages with Sonly online.
Any person who says Icahn is a "good person" or "cool" is a F@cking idiot!! I'm from the 80's generation so I know first hand that Icahn is a corporate raider!!! This isn't a good thing people, he is a destroyer of companies and it is not a good thing for him to have interest in your company. Just recently, ask Yahoo, how great he is? He buys into a company to get enough shares to matter and then boosts the stock to force a sale. He makes a ton of money and the company is left in ruins. So the previous idiot here that said "Icahn is cool" is a D#ck. Unless you want to see Take 2 fold? I like games and this is a very bad day, that's why the article is here, not good.
I really couldn't care since I won't be playing FF and don't care for JRPG. But aren't we past the point of who has better shadows? And really doesn't the people who want to play this have a PS3 and 360 by now anyways? As far as disc swapping, let me play a game without a disc in the system and then we will talk progress but if I still have to get up to put it in once then thats already once too much.
I live in a smaller town of about 35k people and our local K-Mart, Mejiers, Best Buy, Gamestop and Target have more than 10 in stock currently and none of them said they had any problems meeting any of this "huge holiday demand". Infact in our local paper you can find many Wii's for sale with the common statement from the sellers that "like new and our family no longer plays it" tagline. Just last week at one of the Gamestops I overheard a customer wanting to know the trade value of a Wii with Wii Fit so he could trade up to one of the other systems. Now Nintendo is good at milking products and making money so they can see that the gravy train on the Wii is slowing down so they limited the amount of units to be produced. Analysts are nothing more than people who "guess" what something will do, they don't really know, I was an Analyst for 10 years and all you can do is guess no matter what they may say with their education. When Sony and MS hit with their motion controls this Fall, Nintendo knows that they will have more competion so they are preparing. What Nintendo better do is come clean with everyone and give the customers and updated system with HD and something no one else has or next generation may be a N64/Gamecube generation. I love my DS but I don't own a Wii and don't care to or play a system with 6 year old graphics on my 55" HDTV.
Been real bad costing my family money this year. I've had 5 surgeries this year costing alot of money. My Wife and I decided not to give each other gifts this year after doing it for the last 20 plus, but we are giving what we have to our Son. Winning would help give alot more. Merry Christmas!
Seems about right to me. My Gateway piece of crap lasted 2 1/2 years of painful existance, with the hinges breaking within 4 months and hard drive failing/replaced 4 times, screen cracking, keys falling off and finally the motherboard failing. My Sons Dell has only lasted 2 years with keys falling off, screen cracking, hinges breaking and hard drive and battery being replaced. I bought a Toshiba last June and should have stayed with Toshiba since I'd own one in the past and liked it and have always had luck with a Toshiba. I buying one for my Son next February for use in college. I think reliability comes down to luck in most cases and what might not work for me, Gateway & Dell, might work fine for someone else. Also since the Win7 upgrade on my Toshiba life has been sweet, Win7 is like an updated XP no more Vista errors. Just had to say that.
I used to work for AT&T and don't hate the company but Verizon has never failed me. When traveling to my son's college that is in the middle of no where 100 miles in the country my coverage or calls never drop on Verizon. I would go miles before with AT&T and have no service. I would agree that AT&T should work on improving their service instead of trying to stop companies from pointing out their weakness.
I'm not an expert and will not claim to be but I've run various systems for more than 20 years. Win7 has been great on my Toshiba laptop. The system is only about 5 months old and I did the Vista to Win7 upgrade last week and so far everywhere on the system I've seen improvements. The real world results have been surprising and how fast that it runs everything is amazing. I did love XP and Win7 feels like a natural advancement so I am surprised that Win7 didn't do as well on the netbooks. I'm sure that MS can get the code running better to save some power, probably by limiting the gadgets or something that runs in the background. I would imagine that there are enough things like that running that can be shut down as a default but who knows like I said I'm not an expert.
