I think you missed the entire point of the book. But to each his own. Also...the obsessive clothes thing made sense seeing as how Patrick Bateman was obsessed with the details. It certainly did get annoying but it was supposed to.

American Psycho (the movie) was pretty good....The book was 100 times better though. Definitely read it if you enjoyed the movie!
