Could someone please tell me how exactly people were chosen for this? Did you need to check something in your Live profile? Applications? Picked at random from all Live users? What is it?

I feel like I missed out on at least having a chance...

Yes, because progress has always been made with that mindset.

Modern Warfare 2 'Stimulus Package' sells over 2.5M units in a week

@The Aquacharger (PSN:Elvenmonk)

A very valid point you raise. I forgot that this does indeed happen sometimes.

However, not all DLC is simply an unlock of pre-existing content. For instance, the halo map packs were almost all original content. Certainly, time and labor had to be put in to its creation so how can we expect these to be free? (And this is certainly not the only example. I only use it because it was argued in some posts back.)

Again, I'm not justifying any particular price point. I just don't believe that we should have some sort of self-entitlement to free extra content.

Umm, forgive me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the money to pay the developers for their work have to come from somewhere?

I'm starting to believe that many people on here think that these maps or any DLC in general are just pulled out of someone's ass or materialize out of thin air without any man-hours or labor put in to it...

Don't get me wrong, I think $15 is a tad steep, and the reason I won't be buying them, but I certainly don't expect map packs or most DLC to be free.

Video shows World of Warcraft running on iPhone

Apr 28th 2009 12:50AM (Joystiq)
People, you are missing the real worth in this kind of thing. Let me first say that I do not play WoW, but something like this that could easily allow a player to check auctions, chat with guild, work on their character jobs, and do some minimal farming would be an absolute must for any WoW player with an iPhone or iPod Touch. Obviously, this thing wouldn't be used for anything like a raid, but there a lot of trivial things that are done in the game (like the things mentioned above) that wouldn't require outstanding FPS.

And who cares if it is cloud computing? Did you honestly expect the iPhone to run the game on its own? Cloud computing is just as good and an app like this would be a gold mine for the makers.

I'd totally show it off to my brother (and rub it in his face) because he's still stuck in the past with his DS phat.
