Sincerely,
A fan of good games

Amazon's vorpal sword cuts $20 off Alice: Madness Returns

Jun 28th 2011 1:46PM (Joystiq)
Let me join in and say that I'm with the comments here; Alice 2 was one of the most beautiful, fun, creative, clever, imaginative, and engaging fantasy-action games I've had the joy of experiencing in many years. It had some flaws, but overall I absolutely recommend anybody with any love for platformers and fantasy adventure games to give it a try. This was one of the very few times I've ever disagreed with the critics, and I'm overjoyed fans have been lavishing praise on this game all across the internet.

Amazon's vorpal sword cuts $20 off Alice: Madness Returns

@whylekat I think it is, and I've been gaming a long time. Alice isn't perfect, but it is by far one of the most beautiful, enjoyable, robust, and creative games I've played in years. And if you buy it new, you get the original American McGee's Alice game free, which is almost worth $40 all on its own!

Raziel and Kain settle their differences in Guardian of Light trailer

I would kill for a new Legacy of Kain game. If only Tony Jay were still alive. That man's voice as the Elder God still sends shivers down my spine.

Dead Space 2 debut trailer becomes undead

Apr 29th 2010 12:19PM (Joystiq)
Dead Space is the current king of survival horror and it was everything Resident Evil 5 was not. It was moodier, scarier, more violent, better told, and it even controlled better (and it exposed RE's whole "not being able to run and shoot is more scary" argument as stupidly flawed.) The game wasn't perfect, of course. Reoccurring enemies, repetitive fetch quests, and a lack of set pieces marred the experience somewhat, but the overall thrill and tense combat and psychological story more than made up for it. I can't hear "twinkle twinkle little star" ever the same way again. Bring on the sequel.

Square Enix undecided about FF5 and FF6 DS remakes

Apr 28th 2010 1:13PM (Joystiq)
As much as I like FFVI (by far the best one in the series. FFXII and XIII are pale imitations), I feel a 3D remake on the DS wouldn't cut it.... that game deserves a full-on next-gen remake... and is far more deserving of it than FFVII ever was. I really want to hear the opera scene in glorious audio surround sound... I want to see the opening march with intricate mechanical detail of its beautiful steampunk world and designs... I want to see a stunning modern rendition of Kefka's destruction of the old world... FFVI was a game ahead of its time, and even the Nintendo DS would just be holding back its potential.

Swag Saturday: Reading! [update]

Apr 10th 2010 10:32PM (Joystiq)
I'm actually studying game design, so I actually WOULD use all of this to learn how to make great games... which would then be talked about on the internet. Wouldn't that just be swell?

Super Street Fighter IV character rebalancing detailed

Apr 6th 2010 7:27PM (Joystiq)
I agree. Make Chun-Li stronger. I could dominate with her in Street Fighter II, but she's pitifully weak by comparison in SSIV.

Easily "This Is the New Sh*t" by Marilyn Manson to advertise Dragon Age: Origins.... really?
