Rumor: Sony shutting down SOCOM dev Zipper Interactive

Mar 24th 2012 1:46AM (Joystiq)
Well when you don't listen to your fanbase (that made you popular) this is what happens. All we ever wanted since the PS3 launched was SOCOM 2 HD (not a 3rd Person COD Crap). SOCOM 2 is Legendary and is the game alot of guys got their shooter NO skills on (it was my 1st online MP). Awesome maps where you knew the objective. Best shooter MP Ever created (I had over 550 hours of playtime). It also shipped with 21 Maps (you are lucky to get 10 nowadays so they can rip us off with DLC). Adios Zipper, and maybe next time you will listen.

These are Great Maps:

1. Frost Fire- Suppression- Alaska

2. Blizzard- Demolition- Alaska

3. NightStalker- Demolition- Turkmenistan

4. Desert Glory- Extraction- Turkmenistan

5. Rats Nest- Suppression- Turkmenistan

6. Abandoned- Suppression- Thailand

7. The Ruins- Demolition- Thailand

8. Blood Lake- Extraction- Congo

9. Bitter Jungle- Demolition- Congo

10. Death Trap- Extraction- Congo

11. Sandstorm- Breach- Algeria

12. Fish Hook- Extraction- Algeria

13. Crossroads- Demolition- Algeria

14. Fox Hunt- Escort- Albania

15. The Mixer- Escort- Albania

16. Vigilance- Suppression- Albania

17. Requiem- Demolition- Russia

18. Guidance- Escort- Russia

19. Chain Reaction- Suppression- Russia

20. Sujo - Breach- Brazil

21. Enowapi- Breach- Brazil

22. Shadow Falls- Suppression- Brazil

I play portable games everyday. Right now I am playing Zelda: OoT and loving it. My kids love Mario World Kart 7 and Super Mario Land 3D. I have a 16GB Class 10 SD Card.

YOu do know there are those of us out there that mainly use GameFly because buying games usually a waste of money. I only buy games I KNOW I will get my monies worth (Borderlands, HALO:Reach, Gears of War, Crysis & Mass Effect). These are all games I have played multiple times (SP NOT just MP) especially Borderlands (LOVE that game). EA can goto Hell. This is why I stopped renting Madden and ANY EA related Sports Game. I rented Dead Space 2, played once, sent back.

Turtle Beach's Xbox 360 Bluetooth Chat Adapter hands-on (or: One of the best things I saw at E3)

Jul 7th 2011 10:17PM (Joystiq)
As a person who has a TB X41 & TB PX5, I would Love to have the 360 Bluetooth add-on as I could then sell my TBX41's. The TB PX5's are Amazing and adding Bluetooth to the 360 side would be incredible. TB has Great customer support and I believe this unit would work as advertised. Hurry up TB

OnStar expands smartphone control over entire 2011 GM lineup

OnStar is Awesome. I just bought a 2011 Chevy Malibu LTZ and I use OnStar often. The hands free calling is very nice, my car has its own phone number. How crazy is that

iPhone 4 review

Jun 22nd 2010 7:31PM (Engadget)
With the EVO I have gotten really accustomed to Widgets and the overall openness of Android. I did a simple Root today using unrevoked and wifi tether software and now have a FREE Hotspot. Do not have to pay $30 a month for Sprint's Hotspot. With unlimited data, I can tether to my hearts content. iPhone is really nice but it's a closed eco system, whereas Android is open much like the PC. There are many talented developers out there that will continue to expand the Android market. Can't wait to see what Froyo does to the EVO. Enjoy your iPhones. Having a smartphone is better than carrying around a laptop. I also really enjoy using full version of websites and not the mobile version.

@jawman Here are my Speed Tests (6\15\10):

Near Router: 3.8mbps Down, 788kbps Up (9:02 pm)

8ft Away from Router: 3.2mbps Down, 361kbps Up (9:03 pm)

It's comparable I guess. Up speeds are cut around 50%. Down speeds are better.

I have run 7 speed tests since 6/11/10:

Avg Near Router: 3.9mbps Down and 763kbps Up

Avg 8 ft Away from Router: 3.1mbps Down and 332kbps Up
