First 60 Draenei Shaman, Blood Elf Paladins seen ingame

Jan 25th 2007 11:26AM (WoW)
The guild Annarchy on Dark Iron has had a 60 Shaman since Tuesday at 3:06pm server time. Not sure what his current level is, but considering he lapped my Warlock (he started his character when my Warlock was level 49. He is now 60 and I am 54)

First US 70?

Jan 18th 2007 4:47PM (WoW)
@2:

A good portion of the comments and forum posts I read about the other first 70 was the way he acquired 70, which some people consider to be just shy of exploiting game mechanics to reach 70 in a short amount of time. Personally, I kind of have no opinion on the subject matter; if that's how you want to get to 70, more power to you. Frankly, I don't even have a character at 61 yet, and I'm not too worried about getting 70 in the next few months.

The content will still be there when I reach 70 :)

But, congratulations to those who do get 70, especially at such a short point in this juncture. More importantly, though, is that these people should take this opportunity of dinging 70 to...I don't know, say, sleep for the next 24 hours straight or so!

Capcom aware of Dead Rising standard-definition woes

Aug 15th 2006 1:09PM (Joystiq)
Kinda missed this in the first post, but you couldn't get an idea for this problem in the demo since there was no crucial in-game text (I don't remember any at all, but I'm not 100% sure, so please correct me if I'm wrong). The game is, thankfully, still pretty fun without the in-game text, but if you're interested in knowing more about what's going on or who Otis is annoying you about now, you're pretty much doomed.

Capcom aware of Dead Rising standard-definition woes

Why do people keep using the "just buy an HDTV" argument? It's not always feasible for people to just step out of their budget to pick up an HDTV, even if you can pick up one for less than a price of the PS3. If I shell out $400 for a console and $60 for a game and find out it's unplayable unless I shell out an extra $250+ (probably being considerably generous on the prices here) and there's no warning on the box, then yeah, I'm going to be upset and justifiably so.

For anyone who is struggling with this dilemma themselves, I would suggest picking up a VGA cable for your 360. I have a honeymoon to pay for, so getting an HDTV takes a pretty significant backseat, but a $40 VGA cable takes a lot of the sting out of the problem until Capcom can give us a suitable fix.

OPM editor doesn't even want a PS3 ... yet

Aug 12th 2006 12:46PM (Joystiq)
The amount of people whining about how "Joystiq is unfair to PS3 fans" and "she's missing waht a great value the PS3 is" need to re-read the post. Perhaps a couple of times. Let's go over the FACTS of the post:

1) Joystiq has only said what they are observing from all of this. They didn't spin the article, they didn't invent new facts, nothing. If covering an article that is even remotely negative or positive in some way makes them biased, then I shudder to think how you exist in a media-driven world. A big part of fair and balanced (No, not Fox News fair and balanced) is telling the public what is going on, even if you don't like it. Quite frankly, I have yet to even see an article -anywhere- that puts the PS3 in a positive light (an article that isn't ZOMGBLURAY, anyways).

2) If an editor of the Official PLAYSTATION magazine says that she is not interested in purchasing a PS3 at launch, then yes, that does say a great deal about where Sony is headed. A lot of people do agree that PS3 needs more killer launch titles to merit it also being a gaming system worth the price tag.

3) No, not everyone cares about Blu-Ray, so it being a big value there only applies...to people who want Blu-Ray. Personally, I'm with the editor on this one.

4) The editor never said she couldn't afford one or the other. She said that she wasn't interested in what Sony is selling yet.

5) The difference between the $500 and $600 PS3 is really enough to make the $600 PS3 the only one that a lot of people want, which is why people put emphasis on the $600 PS3. If I'm shelling out that much on a console, then yes, I'd rather not have a gimped version.

Capcom asks: how about Dead Rising 2?

Aug 10th 2006 9:22AM (Joystiq)
I second the comment about needing a patch for those of us with things like 27" TVs. The in-game non-cutscene text is completely impossible to read on my television, and as much as I love this game, I can't shell out the ungodly sums for something larger in the TV area for one specific game. Capcom, please, just give us a tiny patch to increase the font size!

Laguna Beach video game coming soon!

Aug 7th 2006 1:01PM (Joystiq)
In other news, Capcom has announced a tie-in with the upcoming reality-show-turned-video-game Virtual Laguna Beach titled "Dead Rising: Laguna Beach." Teach the undead how to dress and act in a consequence-free world! Feed poor people to the undead and then laugh about it over your $23 martinis! Command your army of the undead with phrases such as "Like, OH. MY. GOD." and "Totally get them!"

At this time, Capcom has announced no intention to create a similar tie-in based on The Hills.
