This was also in the Wall Street Journal today (page B5), and in USA Today.

Plus that twitter thing is kinda weird considering that you can't get data while on a call. Maybe it's like some kinda thing where if someone calls the last thing they twittered gets shown before you pick up?

Android 3.0 Gingerbread getting revamped UI, Froyo living on for lower-end phones?

Jun 30th 2010 5:29PM (Engadget)
@bfdhud This post is not about 2.2, this is about 3.0. I agree I don't think that fragmentation is as bad with 2.1/2.2/1.6 phones, but when 3.0 is released, there will be a huge gap between phones - some of which would have been released less than a year before 3.0 - and them not being able to get whatever 3.0 brings.

Android 3.0 Gingerbread getting revamped UI, Froyo living on for lower-end phones?

@bfdhud The difference is that PC's "shipped with early XP" are likely 6 or more years old (considering XP first shipped about 9 years ago).

There are many, many Android phones out there released less than a year ago that do not qualify for this, and that don't even have 2.1. Some of this is due to the rapid pace of development, and some due to customization by carriers and companies that delays these udpates. Either way, it's an issue and that's what people refer to when they talk about Android fragmentation.

I'm going to assume that the Incredible is the same. Why would you store jpg's on the phone's internal memory anyway.

Ted, you post this in every, single Android thread. It's getting quite annoying. Why don't you go to Google's forums and submit a suggestion?
