Study says LEDs are about as efficient as compact fluorescents, all things considered

Aug 5th 2009 11:16AM (Engadget)
what do you expect from AOL, poster child for going downhill

by the way this is only saying that you are paying for the BULBS and how long they last before you replace them.

it doesnt take into consideration how far less it costs to run a .1w LED buld as opposed to a 100 watt incandesant or 20 watt CFL

PS3 manufacturing costs down 70 percent? Strange, it doesn't feel that way

@rob

so is an old ass computer from 10 years ago, which costs $0, just dust it off. oh or how about an xbox 360 which is $200 and is also a media center extender. you could get 2 xbox 360s instead of one ps3. buying a ps3 for watching movies is just dumb especially in this economy. furthermore, its made by sony, a non american company. support usa.

'Avatar' game requires HDMI for 3D effects

it has nothing to do with the fact that you need 1080p, its that you need 60 hz output which can't be done on old RCA jacks.

why would the resolution of the picture matter whatsoever. 3d is 3d whether its pixellated or not.

anyway, i highly doubt the xbox 360 is going to be the limiting factor here, i guarantee almost nobody has a television that can support the technology.

hint: dont make retarded headlines for articles and then try to make a company look bad when its not their fault.

Interview: Magic the Gathering -- Duels of the Planeswalkers

hell yea ive been so addicted to this game i havent played any other games besides battlefield 1943 and magic since they came out.

cant wait for the bug fixes, co-op freezes wayy too much.

i really hope they come out with either new premade decks or more cards for existing decks to allow for a bit more strategic customization.

theyre definitely balanced as they stated in the article, but i would like to see some more in the skill of planning your deck matter rather than the luck of the draw.

keep up the good work WotC

Windows 7 activation already cracked with Lenovo's OEM license key

Jul 29th 2009 1:08PM (Engadget)
ok, you got me there, so its not "for life" its until the product is no longer supported, which is about 10 years for all windows versions in the past.

so youre still going to bitch about $50 over 10 years, or $5 a year for the best OS on the market.

congratulations on saving so much money pirating or going with linux.
