The homing butt stomp was certainly news to me, but what surprised me most was that I can recenter the camera while swimming. I've spent a fair amount of time whining because I can't rotate the camera with the d-pad underwater :P.
Stopped at the 121 stars bit because I only just got Luigi!
I give it a week until someone mods portal to replace the wooshy teleport noise with disturbing birthing sounds. Who am I kidding, it's probably already been done.
I think it rather rude to say that violence is masculine and thinking to solve problems is an overtly feminine trait. That said, most non-gaming women I know seem to be more interested in puzzle games and less interested in shooting sweaty men with normal mapped veins. It's valid to say that first person shooters tend to be targeted at males, but broadening that to make violence a male trait, rather than, you know, a violent one, is pretty low.
The useless electronic device that is currently wasting space in my house is my Gamecube. Ever since I got my Wii the thing's been pouting relentlessly. It insists that handles are necessary and scoffs at the little Wii's sleek form. At least it's a silver one.
I'm very curious as to what plans might exist for distributing this content to the PS2 version of Rock Band. Hopefully there actually are plans. Dreams of Juke Box Hero and Fortunate Son would keep me up at night otherwise.
I do enjoy readin' up on MMO news on occasion, despite not playing any myself. That said, what kind of MMO players would this entice? Are there people that play more than one MMO at a time?
I know the main character's always going to get the most graphical love, but Iron Man really does look dramatically better than a lot of the background imagery in these screens.
ILM's model looks terrific, for sure, but one model by itself isn't enough to change an entire game's art direction. When you've got that level of detail in a character and the backgrounds are that empty, it tends to be noticed.
