Any idea when we might see the official release of the iPhone SDK hit the Dev Center? I'd love to get rid of the 2 XCode installs on my hard drive and move to a single install of the iPhone SDK v4.

Through AT&T. Went in on launch day, they had to take my order on a paper receipt pad and make an impression of my card...The rep I worked with went in the next day 2 hours before the store opened and put all his orders in. Can't wait for the shipment notification email! :)

I pre-ordered an iPhone 4 32GB at my local AT&T store today and they had do to the entire thing by hand (get a credit card "impression" [hadn't seen that done in like, forever!] and write out a receipt slip). Then they're going to process the orders manually later when things start behaving again.

AFAIK, developers haven't gotten a gold seed of OS4 yet, so a release today is unlikely. But you never know with Apple!

The website says the same for me, too. If you notice though, there's an asterisk saying that price requires a 2-year contract. I got my information from a LIVE person at an AT&T store and not their wireless shop website.

FYI, guys, if you're in the middle of a contract (like most of us who bought 3GS's, there's a price to pay: you probably won't get the AT&T subsidy on the phone. I talked to someone at the AT&T store in my town, and they said (using the 3GS as an "example"): say you have a 2G right now and the 3GS was just announced and you're eligble for an upgrade. Normally the phone is $200 w/ a 2-year contract. Upgrading in the MIDDLE of a contract, you'd pay $400 because you'd get Apple's subsidy (the discount to which they refer) but not AT&T's. So, you probably won't end up paying the price advertised w/ 2-year contracts.

So, why exactly are they charging for Skype-to-Skype calls? I understand going to or from a landline, but why over a data connection? Isn't it just like wifi but a different ISP/speed?

HL2 is out, along with episodes 1 and 2; TF2 is on the way soon and they're selling the entire Orange Box for pretty damn cheap ($20.99US).

They also updated the Steam Cloud to work with HL2/ep1/ep2 so you don't have to worry about manually moving game saves back and forth. I would try it out with my MBP and WinXP desktop, but for some reason XP decided to not want to connect to my network after applying WPA2 security to the WiFi....*sigh* more tinkering after work, I guess.

In any case, I'm glad these finally came to the Mac. It's about damn time!
