Well yeah, but Activision has the sole publishing rights. You seriously think the person cashing the checks isn't going to have a huge say in the game? The power is where the money is, and the money is coming from Activision. They can be "independant" all they want, as soon as Activision wants something they don't like, it's too bad, since they can just pull funding.
Oh Goddamit. This is the worst news I've heard all year in terms of games. Could there be a worse choice for Bungie? I mean I hear it's worked out just dandy for Infinity Ward lately. They all seem like happy and pleased employees.
This is why I love Harmonix, and Guitar Hero can go to hell. These kinds of improvements would have been a whole new game for Activision, full priced. Harmonix supports their game, and instead patches us this type of thing for free, extending the life of their product. Love this company.
Why is Breaking Benjamin the picture for this news? I would say Alice in Chains was and is a bigger band. Your talking about one of the major 90's bands. Lane and co aught be the picture here, not a bunch of Twilight lookalikes.
The Avatar stuff seems overpriced. I've paid for Premium themes in the past, maybe 2 or so in the close to 4 years I've had the 360, but the Avatar stuff definitly seems too expensive. 400 Points for a lightsaber? You can buy full on GAMES for that price. Every piece should be 80 Points IMO, except for the full suits at MAYBE 120 Points. Until the prices lower I can't see myself buying any of this, only through Avatar Awards . They definitly need to implement some free pieces as well. What is the $50 a year going towards if they can't throw us a bone with some free Avatar stuff? Don't get it wrong, I love the new Avatar stuff, but it's got to be lowered before I'll touch the marketplace for it.
Also, how the hell did they get a whole section for Star Wars Clone Wars, but not a single Robe or Hood in sight?
It makes me so happy, that a company that consistantly does the right thing by their customers, no DRM, lots of support on their products, just a Triple A studio all the way. It's awesome that in these bad economic times, that a company like them can still be successful (they clearly are if thier in a position to hire instead of firing like everyone else).
