Rumor: The Hobbit movie tie-in games coming from Monolith

As long as this Hobbit game allows you to overhear witty conversations I'm in.

Japanese hardware sales, March 19 - 25: April Fools' Day edition

Apr 2nd 2012 2:35AM (Joystiq)
The PS2 kicking the 360's ass makes me wonder if Microsoft is going to bother trying to do another big push into Japan next generation. I kind of hope they do because we got Lost Odyssey last time and that is a pretty decent game. I wouldn't blame them for not bothering next time though.

Torchlight team remains strong in face of Diablo 3

Mar 19th 2012 5:13PM (Joystiq)
Going into this year I was sure that Torchlight 2 would beat Diablo III out. Pretty good chance that a Torchlight 2 XBLA will beat a Diablo III console release though. But that is mostly because I don't think Blizzard is compatible with Console Life-cycles.

Diablo 3 emerges from hell May 15

Wow both Diablo III and Max Payne 3 on my birthday! Awesome serendipity Batman!

Epic: Consoles must be 'bleeding edge' in next generation

Mar 12th 2012 5:34PM (Joystiq)
He makes an interesting point about Apple. The new iPad has the same quad-core graphics chip as the Playstation Vita. The only advantage the Vita has in terms of processing power is that it also has a quad-core cpu while the iPad has the dual-core version of a comparable cpu. Either the iPhone 5 or next year's iPad is almost guaranteed to be quad-core. In other words it is only going to take a couple years for new iOS devices to out-strip Vita in terms of processing power.

Doesn't change the fact that touch-screen buttons are much worse than the physical ones the Vita has.

Diablo III shelves PvP to make launch

Mar 9th 2012 11:13PM (Massively)
Its interesting because they also dropped PvP right before the launch of WoW and then patched it in three months later (or maybe it was six, can't really remember). The pulled it after the manual had been made so not only did the manual talk about PvP but it also talked about Vehicles in PvP, which didn't make it in til four years later in Wrath of the Lich King.

Mass Effect 3 shipped 3.5 million worldwide, 890,000 sold in NA, SWTOR still doing well

Mar 9th 2012 1:23PM (Joystiq)
@BoBsS and Boycotting the DLC, a 40% attach rate for From Dust is crazy.

BioWare investigating fix for Mass Effect 3 face import errors

Mar 7th 2012 5:42PM (Joystiq)
This happened to me, now I was planning on re-doing the face anyways but the thing that sucks a bit is that the Lazarus Scars didn't import in any way and since they were not a facial option and more of a moral choice thing I'm disappointed they didn't import in. I specifically chose not to have the facial surgery in Mass Effect 2 so that I could come into ME3 with the scars and bad ass glowing red eyes, ah well.

Bastion's canceled feature: 'Find a shoe? Plant it.'

Mar 6th 2012 5:06PM (Joystiq)
So Bastion could have been more like Odin Sphere, interesting.
