Alone in the Dark creator hopes for an HD remake one day
Mar 10th 2012 12:30AM (Joystiq)So a reboot would be a retelling of the story, separate from the gameplay or graphics. Sort of like the new Spiderman Movie.
Alone in the Dark creator hopes for an HD remake one day
Mar 9th 2012 7:47PM (Joystiq)I hear you. But I think it can be a fine line.
I think they just the term for all games where they overlay the graphics, or in some cases even improve the engine and the graphics but leaving nearly everything else identicle. I think they use term "reboot" when they start from scratch even to the map, game mechanics and enemy level.
Think bionic commando. Which was a reboot? The game sort of fell flat; and I mean the "next gen version' and the 'arcade' 2D side scroller.
The Halo Anniversary was using the same exact game, just with new graphics overlaid. I don't know what else you can call it though, other than a remake.
The HD Overlay sort of sounds lame.
BTW, Alone in the Dark 3 (I think) was freaking badass for the PC like 10 years ago. I liked that game better than Resident Evil 1 or 2.

Mass Effect 3 single-player review: This is it
Mar 6th 2012 9:42AM (Joystiq)I haven't finished Mass Effect 2 yet. You ruined it for me.
For some reason, I am just reluctant to go to the "once you go here you can never go back" point in the game. And I am not a side quest guy, so I don't know why.
But now, thanks to you, I have no reason to finish it.
You jerk!

Mar 1st 2012 5:22PM (Joystiq)You are very welcome!
I had nothing to add or say about the review; I think it speaks for itself.
I guess I could have said, "Great review! I am going to buy this game." But then I would have been like everyone else. Which, in my opinion, not being a social media consumer of Facebook, I couldn't care less about if you plan on buying the game or not.
Like I said in an earlier post; I seem to be seeing more mistakes these days.
I absolutely HATE when I run into mistakes in books. It drives me nuts! For something that should be going across the editor's desk, such as these posts, that is unacceptable.
