Project Sylpheed locks on July 10th; costs $39.99
Jun 15th 2007 2:26PM (Joystiq Xbox)I've never had to tinker with the control in these types of games but for this one it was a must! Too wonky by default. My expericence became much more enjoyable once I went into the option and did some adjusting.
That being said its no Freespace or Solony wars but what else is there on 360? Glad it's not a full $60. I'll probably get it just because I want to see a better space-flight game get developed for the system down the road. If the genre can't sell games then no one will bother to make them.
Project Sylpheed demo now on Xbox Live Marketplace
Jun 14th 2007 1:53PM (Joystiq)I was pretty hesitant to jump over to the darkside too (Not a big Microsoft fan) but I'm having a blast. Evil is good sometimes...
@konajinx
Einhander FTW!!! I loved that game on PS1. (Still own a copy) Now that would be a nice additions to XBLA with a high-def upgrade.
I would definitely like to see some Colony Wars or Freespace luv on the 360. Can't wait to try Sylpheed out after work :)
Assassin's Creed trailer leaves us wanting more
May 30th 2007 7:07PM (Joystiq Xbox)I think that is the first time a game trailer has actually made me want a game I previously had no interest in. Sic swordplay.
I hope they stick with that modern soundtrack for the actually game instead of some medival fluff. (If they gave medival tunes a modern twist I'd be ok with that too.)
World of Warcraft breaks 8 million subscribers
Jan 11th 2007 8:25PM (Joystiq)Nerdcore Rising throws down with trailer
Jan 10th 2007 12:44AM (Joystiq)Hip-hop is dead because only 2 types of hip-hop can break through and be heard on major outlets now: gansta rap and club-hop. During the first decade and a half of hip-hop all types could get play on radio and TV. You had NWA with the gansta shit you had the MC Hammer's and Fresh Prince's with the party/feel good vibes, and you even had Public Enemy dropping political songs on the radio. No matter what flavor you liked you new it was coming up in the rotation.
Now the only way for artist to get play on TV or even local radio is to drop a gansta rap track or stripper club song with Casio keyboard beats, recycled bling filled verses, and hooks that make NO fucking sense.
Hip-hop will come back to life when all types of hip-hop (even the ones I can't stand!) get equal exposure again.)
You now its bad when you listen to the radio and wonder why the DJ is playing the same track twice only to realize that its a clone rapper with a slightly differnt beat/hook.
Chosin1 out
Why we can't wait for iPhone gaming
Jan 9th 2007 11:20PM (Joystiq)*The iPhone is released on the other major cell phone carriers*
If a phone is popular enough it finds its way onto multiple carriers (Motorola RAZR)
That voicemail feature is not essential enough to keep it out of millions of potential customers hands. Apple is in the business of making money. This shorterm exclusivity with Cingular will not get in the way of Apple pursuit ot $$$. Why do you think iTunes can be used on Microsoft Windows? The voicemail feature can be dropped and replaced by something else depending on the provider. All the other features should work on any provider.
*The price drops down by $100-200*
Self explanatory. They are in the cell phone business now. $600 phones don’t get mass penetration in this market and they never will. Don’t get me wrong a lot of early adopters will buy this first generation of this phone. Not to mention Apple likes to make many flavors of their products. Wouldn't be surprised to see an iPhone mini at a lower price point. I think $400 will be the sweet spot for this product.
*Better battery life*
Maybe the can make an adapter for it to run of my bio-energy like in the Matrix...
TV remotes demystify Wii sensor bar
Nov 21st 2006 4:38PM (Joystiq)The post was put up for people who were curious about the tech aspects of the Wii but not enough to go dig for the info. No matter how much information YOU have there are people out there who don't know what you know, so get over yourselves.
