They canceled Journeyman and they pick up this garbage? I loved the orginal KR when I was a kid but this reboot is nothing more than an extended commercial for FORD.

The Daily Grind: Not there and repeatedly back again

I quit WOW a couple times but always seemed to come back to it. I had quit for good when an old girlfriend and I decided to give it one more shot. I figured I would build a Frost mage for the ice lance shatter crits. Then they nerfed the crit bonus from shatter. I haven't been back in 6 months.

Yeah, I finally get to see Heroes in HD on NBC this season! Now all they need to do is settle with the Fox affiliate so New Orleanians can actually watch an episode of K-ville in HD before they cancel it.

Optimistic speculation about expansion number two

Jul 9th 2007 3:23PM (WoW)
Blizzard, I'm sure, has already planned out the next expansion and is working on it now. Any suggestions would have to apply to a third expansion.

They've already said they will be releasing expansions annually. So the expansions will probably be smaller than TBC but still add some interesting things.

Maybe they will copy stuff from LOTRO, like titles, deeds, musical instruments, and NPC character play. Maybe some extra-client apps, like auction house browsing and guild chat on portable game systems or a web-site.

My personal wish, and it's a long shot, is an optional graphical update. Maybe even DX10 support. Add in some special effects and higher rez textures. More animation and detail in the cities.
Make it optional for folks running the game on toasters, Iphones, and ancient computers.

Christian Bale Talks a Bit About Justice League Movie

Jul 3rd 2007 4:58PM (Cinematical)
I don't think it's necessary to have the big name actors from other feature films reprise thier roles in another comic book movie series. It would be nice, but it's not necessary. The producer and director of a Justice League movie would choose thier own actors and design their own versions of the costumes. It's just easier that way.
Comic Book movies all exist in their own separate "universes." You never see the Fantastic Four or Daredevil refered to in the Spider-man movies, even though they are all in New York. The X-men are unaware of the Hulk and Ghost Rider. They are all seperate worlds with different directors and producers and styles.
The comics book heroes of DC and Marvel, however, all co-exist in their respective company's universes and are part of one bigger story, like a grand soap opera.
If they do a Justice League movie, it would probably be in it's own continuity with it's own versions of Batman and Superman.
I don't think it would bother the audience that much. I mean, look at how many actors have played Batman in the last 15 years?

Former WoW and EverQuest programmers working on sci-fi MMOG

May 3rd 2007 2:48PM (Joystiq)
I played WoW for 2 years and kinda got burned out on it. The thing I really love about Blizzard's games is the sense of humor and character they put into them. All the voice emotes and jokes and pop culture references make the game fun. No other game even tries to do that. Plus, Warcraft's setting is pretty unlimited. They have robots and dinosaurs and ghosts and gyrocopters, whatever the hell they want to put in there.

I tried out that LOTR online game last night. It's WOW, but replace all the humor and fun with Tolkein references and make the classes really basic and boring. That's LOTRO. It feels like WOWs mechanics and Guildwars graphics stuck in Tolkein's lore. LIke WOW, but not as fun, unless you are a Tolkein nut.

I just wish they would hire some company to make a GOOD Star Wars MMO. SWG was the bottom of the barrel. Well..okay..maybe the Matrix MMO was the worst. But SWG is down there with it!
