First batch of Xbox 'Games on Demand' titles revealed [update]

@punisher That is such a great idea. They should roll out the older games and fit them up with achievement points. They would fly off the "virtual" shelf.....

Here in the UK as an example Assasins Creed is available today, new and sealed for £8.99. That price includes shipping and I get to sell it in 2 or 3 months for at least half, if not more. Sure I have to wait 36 hours if I order now, but is that any reason to pay twice the price?

Mysterious PlayStation 3 Slim listing appears on Amazon.de [update]

.....obviously I meant MORE retails for more than the PS3. Doh.

Surely they cannot drop the price lower than that of the PSP Go? Otherwise they will have real problems justifying why a product with a much smaller feature set retails for less than their flagship home console.

Not that they are going to sell any PSP Go's......

Backward compatability would be great, I could finally unhook my PS2 and lessen the cable mess that upsets my girlfriend so. Although considering the pricing of the PSP Go lets no get too excited. Perhaps they'll launch the slim at the same price as the current PS3 arguing that that is a price cut......

Parents don't read Joystiq

Jul 8th 2009 9:06AM (Joystiq)
It would be nice if occasionally parents read reviews and paid attention to ratings etc. Then we wouldn't pay the price for bad parenting a la the whole Manhunt 2 debacle. When I worked in a games & DVD store parents would happiy buy their kids South Park or GTA games regardless of their age. Perhaps John should do his bit and agree to link to reviews of kids games on other sites/blogs as an attemp to spread the word that they exist.

No point in the likes of joystiq spending resources reviewing a game that NOBODY is going to read the review of.

Croteam seriously remaking Serious Sam for XBLA [update: It's coming to PC too]

Jun 25th 2009 10:24AM (Joystiq)
HD graphics are one thing but will Croteam have mastered "rumble" for this version. To the best of my knowledge neither of the previous games had this feature, which I thought was a bit weird. Other than that I can't wait. Loved the original.

"Yeah, but you can't have wireless internet, a browser, word processors and storage space for thousands of songs and hundreds of movies on your arcade."

Nope, true. That's why I also have a shitty laptop.....Sorted and I'm still $2000 richer. I'll get some therapy for the lack of fidelity in water and the lack of motion blur.....

Xbox 360 Ghostbusters not region-locked, Europe doesn't need to wait

Jun 16th 2009 12:35PM (Joystiq)
Region locking is bad enough but how many North American readers are aware that Sony prevent Play-Asia from seling PSP & PS3 imports to the UK & other European countries. They closed down Lik-sang a while back and threatened other import stores with fines and legal action. All this despite the fact that import gamers are those who buy the most games!!!! Oh, and lets not fight over Ghostbusters.....Lol.
