How ignorant do you have to be to not forsee what deliberately hyping something like this will do. I dont think that Joystiq honestly did not expect the reaction that they got.

The apology being nothing more than an "ooops, were sorry" is pretty indicative that Joystiq simply pulled an IGN and posted some scandal for the page hits. Forget about this credibility thing youre talking about, you sold your credibility with me when you over sold this "news break".
