The fact that anyone would think he lost becasue of games just shows how out of touch and desperate to be relevant some gamers can be. He supported the war and didn't fight with Bush about everything. Thats all there was to it. No matter how antivideo game a guy was, I would likely vote for him if he were to be the best guy to protect the country and give us good jobs. Games don't trump reality.
I think its nice to see a lesser known director getting it. Sometimes a huge resume transfers into a lazy job when it comes to the story telling. Boll being a party to it would have been death, as we all know. Yet, a bigger name could easily "waterworld" this epic as well.
I actually avoided getting this game because many of our group's members, who competitively play fps games, vanished after getting hooked. I was so disgusted with the way they stopped talking to people that I didn't want to encourage it or be part of it. Hell, they play for 40+ hours a week! That being said, if people enjoy the game -thats what it was made for and I cant hold it against the manufacturer.
I think of it like watching asian movies. It is just better in their langauge, without the bad dubbing. I hope that the original language material makes the game feel more like it was meant to when made for Japan. Either way, the title looks tight and i can't wait.
