Picture it: fanboys fight harder

Oct 1st 2006 8:40AM (Joystiq)
Funny. I bought one of those fancy shmancy new iMacs the other day. Very powerful machine for it's price (£750). cannot fault it. It's even got 2 of my Apple hating mates desperate to buy one, mostly for the Windows dual boot, the incredible all-in-one design, the utter silence of the machine and the iLife suite. Apple's best move was moving to Intel chips.
shit I've lost the point... it was something about buying a new iMac and using my Dell monitor for an extended display but with my NES not working with it. yea.

Up close and personal with the Wii

Allstar is ridiculous :D It's like he picked everything optional that not everyone needs. What will I need? Wii and nunchuck controller. £200, BUT the Wii is being bought by my mum for the family TV downstairs. Which makes mine a pleasant £20, nah lets make it £80 I want the full controller, Twilight Princess and Wii Play.

The everyman without his HDTV isn't going to need the component cable, the everyman has an SDTV (HDTV is minority still). Everyman is content with the 512mb internal drive as they won't be hardcore and buy every virtual console game, though everyman already has a few SD cards used in his average, low cost 4mp camera. Everyman might need an ethernet adapter, but this could be the thing to push him/her into upgrading his house to wireless internet, for the cheap computer in the nooks and crannies of his/her house.

ALLSTAR YOU ARE SO TOP!

Daver - Google is a search engine. No need to be pedantic.

Full version of Gears of War leaked? [update 1]

Yup. games get pirated very day. why make a fuss over a 3rd person shooter?

So you could either wait until god knows when it's out or download 9gb which wouldn't take *that* long, even on my 512kbps connection and a Mac that never turns off. hmm.

Hey Nintendo, make the switch to paper boxes permanent!

Sep 28th 2006 7:37PM (Joystiq)
It's very selfish of me, but yes I prefer the plastic boxes. my GBA boxes are thrown into a cupboard whereas my DS cases are placed alongside my DVD's and GC games. and more recently my NES boxes :p

New Wii features: Message Board & Play History

Christ on a bike I love the sound of that! I don't care if they're monitoring me, I've got nothing to hide. Even so just the collected stats of games (hopefully comprehensive like Smash Bros Melee) will be very nice. I keep finding myself checking up on them stats, reading through who plays as who best etc.

Cheers Ninty! the email thing sounds cool.

Really can't wait for all this now. Thank god I took out a student loan to fund my future Wii addiction.

Did someone say Mario Party?

Dad and son game together -- now that's parenting!

Sep 24th 2006 7:04AM (Joystiq)
Back in the old NES days my parents used to play Mario Bros when I was at school. Only found this out a few months back too! I Showed my mum that pretty much any gaming device in my room is now playing my (legally ripped) Mario Bros rom. Still can't get past level 1-3 after 19 years.
My dad used to make colouring books of Mario characters for me. *ah*

good good times.

Now onto the obligatory Wii piece - I sincerely hope the Wii does this again. I would love to play Wii sports against the elder members of my family. I read a review in Live today that said "[the Wii] is the most toy with microchips I've ever seen", and seeing it's written by and for the disposable income people, well I just hope I can carry my Wii controller and play against everyone from my little sisters mates to my girlfriends grandparents. I WANT A NEW COLOURING BOOK.
