Zombies Ate My Neighbors is a great game, Kudos for Nintendo for FINALLY releasing it on VC. It's funny at the Clan of the Gray Wolf, we just finished a video review of the game where we talked about it hopefully coming to VC in the near future. Of course it wasn't to hard to predict since it's been rated by the ESRB for years...
"Theodore Nugent's politics might prevent him from being universally celebrated"
Oh please... Who is universally celebrated for their politics??? If this were a post about the addition of Bruce Springsteen's work to GHWT, would you make the same comment?? I seriously doubt it. (granted Springsteen is more influencial about 10 times over) But that's probably because his beliefs line up with yours now isn't it? Bias FTW.
After playing the demo, and getting the game this afternoon, I have to have this faceplate!!! Seriously though, very impressive, both the game and the faceplate.
Much has been said of the originality of BioShock as a refreshing breeze through the stale world of FPS. But what I like best so far is simply the level of detail and attention paid to creating a unique and immersive universe for the game. The environments are haunting; the world is dark, with the distinct presence of a past beauty; the artwork for this game simply looks gorgeous and will, I think, put other more simple FPS's to shame. At least I hope it will.
I have dodged WoW to date largely because of its pay-to-play requirements. However, I have also avoided going over to WoW because I have personally observed so many of my firneds becoming completely absorbed by the game, to the point of complete apathy to (nearly) all other outlets of creativity or activity. I think that WoW is only the tip of the iceberg in terms of the addictive properties of games, and while I am certianly not ready to endorse a required label stateing a game's addictive properties, I think there should be serious investigation of the addictive effects. Sure, we all could just live at our computers, interacting with each other in a virtual world forever. But are we not disconnecting from another world in order to join the virtual one? It is that disconnection that is most troubling to me.
