It is a shame neither of the shining forces showed up. But phantasy star 2-4 plus vectorman... that game was a riot.

I'll second Jay's notion of putting out a sega cd/saturn working designs collection. I'm still considering going through ebay to get them :p

As big as Square Enix is, I don't think they have the same worldwide resources as a Sony, Nintendo or Microsoft. Even if they did release their own console, I don't think they have the resources to pull in the non-square fanatics.

I bet it's something along the lines of a specific add on, a la a dance dance revolution mat or guitar hero guitar. Both of those games have seen a lot of success (to make no mention of light gun games that have been around) and he mentioned the DS as a good example, which includes a bit more interactivity then your typical system
