Double Fusion slows down WipEout HD with ads
Aug 3rd 2009 7:21PM (Joystiq)Its a real shame because this game is excellent and fury brings some awesome new levels and game modes (zone battle is a bit dull but detonator and eliminator are brilliant). Its a shame because reading through these comments its seems alot of people arent going to bother with the game now! Tragic, because its one of the best PSN games
Anyway EU PS3 users dont be put off be this, the game is awesome and ad free for us, we may get our games slightly later (in some cases never ^^), have no video store and have to pay more but atleast we can have this small victory... :-P

Jun 25th 2009 8:04PM (Joystiq)I thought there would be a room in you apartment area where you could display your trophies (you know not all of them because people have hundreds but say the trophies you are proud you attained) and there would perhaps be a little 3D model to show this, say you got a helghast helmet to display for platinuming Killzone, a little clank to say you upgraded all your weapons in R&C hell limagine a little Metal Gear Mk II strutting its stuff for getting Big Boss rank in MGS (I know all these games dont have trophies but you get the idea)
I wanted photo frames to display pictures off my hard drive (sure this could be abused, but you could report offensive material or whatever)
Music integration would be great say you have a little sony branded hifi in your apartment, you can select say 5 mp3s from your HD and it can play play them)
Theres all this youtube integration in games how about some integration into home aswel? You record something awesome in game and want to show it off? Bam there it is playing on your Sony Bravia (or whatever) in your home apartment.
I thought there would be Rooms for games where you could meet up and start some online games, say a Killzone 2 room where you can meet up with your clan before starting games? And there would be news in these rooms, say trailers on big screens for the next updates in particular games, links to their websites (for example there could be virtual PCs terminals that load up the PS3 browser and go straight to the home page of the game and your free to browse about but still within the home experience?)
And what about Rooms for things that arent games but still game related... I dunno but what about a little Joystiq room where you can go on browse the headlines/whatever through little browsers and talk to people on this site and perhaps jumb into games and stuff!
Overall maybe I was overly ambitious but I was expecting at least some of these things? Instead we have a MMO experience without any game! Its true that loads of people do silly dances and animations in MMOs like WoW but these arent the things that draw them into playing the game these are just the things they do to pass the time in the enviroment while theyre waiting for a party or whatever, but that is all we have at our dispossal in home! Im upset with the lack of creativity coming from Sony in this area after so much time, money and hype was put into it and I think of myself as a PS fanboy... I just think it could have been a much better experience, perhaps the whole social network thing is not suited for me but surely by enticing gamers into Home with actual integration in the PS experience would not alienate the social network fans that enjoy home?
I dont know! and now Im ranting sorry for the long post

Jun 18th 2009 7:55PM (Joystiq)Do we really need to say "spoiler" on a game over 10 years old? Especially one of the most talked about aspects of the game and probably one of the most talked about boss fights in gaming history? anyway Spoiler none the less dont want to ruin it for anyone that hasnt played this gem ^^
Does that shooting the statues thing work on the PS1 version? I can remember trying to beat psycho mantis without switching ports many a night, back in '98 and failing! I kno you can do it on Twin Snakes for GC... hmmm... but yeah just press home and switch ports that way
Cant wait for this to hit Europe so I can get my retro-gear on!
