Aug 28th 2009 1:31AM (Joystiq)Microsoft needs to pull its head out of its ass, it's getting ridiculous at this point. When most DS lites come standard with wifi for barely more than $100, Microsoft is just price gouging because consumers are too blind to see what they're doing. Most of their other accessories are in the same boat, cut the shit Microsoft.
However, I do still prefer the 360 controller over the PS3 controller by a large amount, and the 360 exclusives and Live service out way what the PS3 has to offer. I own both systems (360 Pro and 60 gig PS3), but my 360 sees far more play time.

Aug 18th 2009 3:34PM (Joystiq)And the systems are indeed battling, not acknowledging that is just plain ignorant. All three console are fighting for sales, exclusives, consumer loyalty and much more. As long as there is more than one "current gen" system, it will continue to be this way. Always has, always will.

And I'll be sticking with my 60 gig, losing BC just isn't an option for me, plus it looks better.

May 1st 2009 10:22AM (Joystiq)Microsoft will announce exclusives and big titles at E3, and it will compete with Sony no problem, just like the last two years. There's no reason that the 360, with many more exclusives (not to mention exclusive extra content), than the PS3 would suddenly drop down to none. And I really think people are under estimating the power of the Halo franchise. Halo ODST will sell more units than most of Sony's upcomming exclusives combined.
Sony needs a lot of work. It needs to make the PS3 affordable and appealing to more people, to you know, make money and potentially stay in the market. It also needs to do the same with the PSP. Yes, there's likely a new upgrade or a new PSP going to be announced at E3, but as Nintendo has shown us it probably won't matter due to the DS. The DSi was selling 43 units a minute the first 48 hours it was out in Japan, the third version of the DS was shipping over 100k units in 2 days, in one country. Has the PSP ever done that?
And someone mentioned a PS3 bundled with Killzone 2 and LBP. Yes, it sounds like a great idea, but the current bundle (with Uncharted) barely sells, and Killzone isn't nearly as big as Halo, or as played. It's like trying to compete against a Mario or Pokemon game, it just can't happen. I'm sure some people would enjoy it, but the price would be astronomical, this putting off even more potential buyers.
The PS3 still has a lot of work to do to even catch up to the other two systems, let alone make a profit. It now has some decent exclusives coming out for it (I can't wait for Infamous or GoW 3), but it still has to compete against the exclusives on the other two systems, and deal with the fact that crossplatform games sell better on the 360 on an almost 2:1 basis.
