I was at a local Gamestop on Sunday and saw two parents buying the DS Lite and NSMB for their kid. The saleswoman almost got them to buy Brain Age by telling them it was educational.
I wonder how many parents bought Brain Age to help their young kids? And I wonder how many young kids will actually play it?
That Classic/Retro pad seems like a last minute addition to me. When you're playing, both hands will be on the pad, and the Wiimote's going to be hanging off of it, right? I can easily see someone celebrating a victory and the Wiimote's going to swing around and crack him on the head. Or if someone's really clumsy, they'll trip right over the Wiimote.
Why isn't it wireless on its own or why doesn't the Wiimote dock inside it somehow?
The logo's interesting since it's got elements of the d-pad and a cube inside. I've forgotten most of my math, but isn't the overall shape a (tesseract) 4-d hypercube? Something like where you take a 3-d cube and extend it into another dimension of space?
I played with my MBP last night for about 4 hours. I don't have that white stripe problem.
As to the hissing noise, I didn't have a problem. But... could it be the system fans? The OWC disassembly pictures show that there are 2 fans under the keyboard. They're at both ends of the hinge. The noise might be coming from them instead of the LCD backlight.
I did notice when the fans turned on, but it happened rarely during my 4 hours and wasn't loud enough to be bothersome. Course, my marble coffee table might have been acting like a giant heatsink.
It's more likely that a big company, EA or Sony, succeeds at a hostile takeover than Jack Thompson. If Jack was trying one, it would be for the sole purpose of destroying a Take2 and it's hard to find investors willing to shell out money just to lose it all.

So, how about that MacBook launch?
May 9th 2006 6:18PM (Engadget)Now that's marketing!
I wouldn't be surprised someone from Apple had management approval to feed these rumor sites every once in a while.
Goodbye Revolution, hello Nintendo GO?
