Jul 25th 2011 1:24AM (Joystiq)I'd argue that originality does not have to come in the form of a new IP. I don't have a Wii so I can't speak for the more recent Mario games. But though the goal is still to save the princess and the characters are certainly familiar, there has been an enormous amount of originality in the gameplay over the years, which is the most important part of Mario games anyway.
Invizimals developer Novarama working exclusively with Sony
Jun 29th 2011 6:45PM (Joystiq)I think it's because Microsoft seems to buy exclusivity from things that are expected to be multi-platform otherwise. On the other hand, Sony funds developers and projects that might not even exist without them, and they pick up exclusives that way. So the feeling is more like Microsoft is stealing other people's stuff, and Sony is making its own things.
NPD: 360 selling twice as many online-capable games as PS3
Jun 28th 2011 11:09AM (Joystiq)I agree with Jay Z, in that whenever I buy a subscription, personally at least, I seek to get the most out of it before it's gone. So if I got a 360 and bought Live, I might be more inclined to buy online games that use it. Even if it's not a subscription, such as my Move setup, I'm still always eager to see new games I can use it for. I think everyone is like that, we'd all like to see that our purchases are worthwhile.
Demon's Souls definitely qualifies as an online game. It's not just limited to hints, there's a PvP scene too you know. Co-op is also quite fun (whether you're a blue or not! :D)

Jun 17th 2011 8:50AM (Joystiq)I eventually saw it after leaving and coming back, not sure if it was just late or if it helped that I reloaded it. I already had another source by then though, so I didn't stick with it.
