Hyperspace Beacon: Breaking the bank

Apr 4th 2012 1:16PM (Massively)
@Greyhame

Small guilds like you speak of tend to be "friends and family" guilds, which means their members' alts will likely be in the same guild. In which case they can easily have a gbank with all their alts in the guild.

If they're simply an alt social guild of a larger guild, then that larger guild they are all members of will already have a guild bank that they can use, meaning they don't need one in their smaller guild.

Notch's new game is '0x10c'

@drunkingamebar

I guess it's the only name available that guarantees no company will sue because of a word in the title that is also in the title of other games. Like on Futurama when the only 2 uncopyrighted names left were Popplers and Zitsles.

Yeah, what game will they flock to after GW2 fails to cure cancer like they thought TOR also would? TERA right? Or EQ Next? Or what is it they'll love next?

Square Enix summons a class-based action title in Crystal Conquest

Apr 3rd 2012 7:01PM (Joystiq)
Am I the only one who saw the title and saw "class" and "action" and assumed Square Enix was suing someone? Took me a second to re-read the article and see it was nothing of the sort.

MetaMetaCritic, the reviewer-review aggregator [April Fools]

Apr 1st 2012 1:03PM (Joystiq)
People always say IGN consistently reviews games with higher scores than they deserve. It'd be nice to have a site like a "Meta Meta Critic" that would give average scores for sites and reviewers so we'd know if they tend to always rate games positively or what.

The Queue: April Lovefool's Day

Apr 1st 2012 12:45PM (WoW)
Did anyone here see Adult Swim last night? Their April Fools "prank" was bringing back the Toonami block, complete with all the old shows. The lineup was (new) Bleach, DBZ, Gundam Wing, Tenchi Muyo, Outlaw Star, Big O(originated on Toonami Midnight Run), Yu Yu Hakusho, Blue Sub 6, Trigun, Astroboy, and GIGANTOR. They even added a new game review in the style of the old reviews they used to do(Mass Effect 3 in this case).

They even had cussing! The ME3 review mentioned the word "ass", and a promo for the Tenchi Muyo DVD set had this classic quote: "He's got 99 problems, and these bitches are the main ones. Tenchi Muyo: The Complete Series is available now."

The internet EXPLODED last night. It was probably the best night of Adult Swim in 10 years.

@The Tim

I've already pre-ordered the "Realm of the Dark Dealer" DLC.

Notch's new space game is called ... Mars Effect?! [April Fools!]

This article needs the "It's Already April 1 in Japan" tag that the NES Google Maps article has.

In case no one got Knob's reference, he was paraphrasing the Sith Code. I upvoted him just for that.

Kissing cousins: SWTOR's legacy system explained

Mar 30th 2012 10:35PM (Massively)
@Scarecrowe

The flaw with you discounting the EU is that you're playing a game that is itself part of the EU. If you discount the Legacy comics set 140ABY(Cade is the most 'recent' Skywalker descendant as of that era, the furthest ahead in the timeline), then you also have to discount the TOR game set 3643-3641BBY. And if you discount TOR, why are you playing it?
