PlayStation 3 gets Amazon Instant Video ... kinda out of nowhere

Apr 3rd 2012 10:13PM (Joystiq)
The streaming selections you can access with just Prime membership (no rental or purchase fee) look to be more limited than Netflix instant—I'll stick with Netflix for now.

Google Maps comes to ... the NES?! [April Fools!]

Mar 31st 2012 4:23PM (Joystiq)
This is more of an April Fool's gift than a joke. I love this.

MonkeyPaw and Gaijinworks Kickstart a Class of Heroes 2 localization

Mar 28th 2012 3:52PM (Joystiq)
When I read about this before, I thought they were also going to port Class of Heroes 2G for PS3, but that doesn't seem to be the case—I'd much rather they did that instead. I've yet to play the original Class of Heroes, but I do love first-person dungeon crawlers, so I hope this succeeds, but... not really feeling like donating right now, I guess.

Move's cryptic Datura captured on video

Mar 15th 2012 9:51PM (Joystiq)
This looks really, really interesting. Almost like a revisiting of Artdink's experimental PS1 game L.S.D., down to even the drug-based title.

The Neo Geo handheld is real, coming out worldwide in Q2

As long as this is supported with more titles (or can play ROMs), I want this.

PSN releases: Journey, Shoot Many Robots, Warp

Mar 15th 2012 4:37AM (Joystiq)
@ungeheier I'm really sorry to hear about Journey's length issue—I was excited about it until I read Joystiq's review. I guess Thatgamecompany are 3 for 3 now on games with stunning art direction that take a stunning concept and do very little with it. It's frustrating because I WANT to like their games and am a big proponent of art games in general, but I honestly felt cheated by both flOw and Flower.

FMV light gun game Mad Dog McCree coming to 3DS

Mar 11th 2012 11:49PM (Joystiq)
Also, I really hope they can this to save themselves and the 3DS the embarrassment. How could anyone think this port was a good idea? Not even diehard Mad Dog McCree fans will buy this, because it is missing the entire point of the game.

FMV light gun game Mad Dog McCree coming to 3DS

Growing up, my local arcade's Mad Dog McCree machine never worked properly, so my only memory of this game is:

How many times do I have to tell you? Keep your gun in the holster!
How many times do I have to tell you? Keep your gun in the holster!
How many times do I have to tell you? Keep your gun in the holster!

And then I went and played Golden Axe: Revenge of Death Adder.

Deadly Premonition being remastered for PS3, with Move support

Mar 8th 2012 6:47PM (Joystiq)
@haikuhaiku Wait for the remake. This game gets a reputation of "so bad it's good," but that doesn't really do it justice. It's a fascinating adventure game based heavily on Twin Peaks, with insane detail in the worldbuilding in a way reminiscent of (and probably surpassing) Shenmue, but it has mediocre graphics and (the one flaw I can't overlook) a control scheme that would have been considered awkward and terrible even if this game were released in the '90s. It would be a great game if it didn't look and play like ass, basically.

Deadly Premonition being remastered for PS3, with Move support

I can only see Move support as an improvement. I've tried to play this as a fan of both Twin Peaks and weird, ambitious games, but I can't get over the tank controls with a camera that always snaps back to center.
