I don't see why so many people are bitching. I haven't bought a single game yet, not because of the price, but rather because the selection is shit right now. There has been ONE game released on the VC that I have been willing to pay for, and that came out today: Catlevania (but of course I can't connect right now). I think the prices are pretty solid, especially for those of us that would rather not hit eBay or scour flea markets and thrift stores and yard sales for cartridges that MIGHT work in your ancient console (that is if you actually own the console in question, which most people don't). I'll be buying VC games when games that I want are up. 5-10 bucks, pff that's a Wendy's value meal or a full-price movie ticket, not bad if you ask me.
Yeah, I'm with #13 on this one. I understand that they want to give the shitty games a chance and they want gamers to buy titles they didn't previously know about (honestly, when they drop Link to the Past or River City Ransom, who's going to care what other games are out that week?), but come on, the system launches with MAYBE two titles worth buying (Zelda 1 and Sonic 1) but those are BIG maybes. I am waiting for Sonic 2 at least, but as it stands, my Wii-Wallet is empty, and it'll stay that way until they drop something on the VC that's actually worth buying...and it's looking like that might be a while...sadly.
Well, rather than pan a football game for being a football game, I'll go the logical route. I don't really dig on Madden, but you'd better believe I'll be in line for NCAA 200X Wii. As someone mentioned above, you're only as good as how often you play the game. You learn the plays, you up the skill level, you learn to take advantage of line shifts and audibles, you build your dynasty team, you recruit, you do it all, but not at first. You build up to those levels, and by including the tutorials, it will help beginners jump in right away. I'm really looking forward to trying this out at Best Buy or somewhere when it comes out, and seeing how much fun it is to actually "throw" the ball, or Juke. (anyone who's ever juked into a tackle on PS2 by hitting R2 instead of L2 can sympathize) It's intuitive and simple, what more could you ask for? Maybe you flamers out there want those ginormous tank commander set-ups for every game, but most everybody else does not.
I may not NEED to preorder a Wii, but you bet your ass I'll be putting one in. I've been looking forward to this for a few years now, and I'll be damned if I somehow don't get one on launch day. I was one of the many many Sony fans let down by the PS2 launch years back.
