I have a 60gig launch PS3 and it YLOD two months ago. I have since bought a new slim. I'm one of those unfortunate few who falls into that 0.5%.. The only real problem I have with this is after I changed over the 60 gig HDD into the slim, I cannot get it to work at all. The instructions state to load the newest firmware udate onto a memory stick, start up the new unit (with old 60gig drive) and hit select & pause at the same time. The slim should install the new firmware update and go from there. I've tried this about a million times and the slim just refuses to recognise the update. I cannot access my old HDD at all. Is this common or am I missing something?

Aside from that....... I am a loyal sony fanboy and refuse to go thru life without my PS3. LONG LIVE SONY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't agree more. I'm a gamer. WTF do I care if some asshole gets a trophy or kills some other asshole? I'm not a teenager so I could care less about tweeting or whatever the hell people call this thing.

Leave me alone and let me play for Christ's sake!! Thank God I can turn this option off. How about putting something in the game thats really useful?

Sony got me. My launch 60gig YLOD on me a couple of months ago and I've been in hell ever since. Seriously. I was all mopey and depressed AND bored!! It got SO bad I decided to purchase a new slim even though I didn't have the money. (thank you master card!!). I love it!! Oh I don't think its as nice looking as my phatty but it works and I'm back in playing again. I've boosted sony's slim sales +1 and I do not regret it at all. And as soon as I get my 60gig re-flowed I'll have TWO ps3's in my house!! One in the entertainment room and now one in my bedroom. As soon as the wife goes to sleep, the slim is ON!
