Emmy 2010 Predictions: Who Will Win?

Aug 27th 2010 3:53PM (AOL TV)
I don't know much about comedy, but I definitely laugh at Community a lot more than the office, the only other comedy I watch. The other ones I can't even get in to.

Sorry, Community!

Framed: Full Metal Jacket

Aug 13th 2010 3:01AM (Cinematical)
These "framed" articles are by far the best thing on Cinematical. I love the site and its my first bookmark in the long list on the toolbar up top, so thats saying something. Keep up the great work on these! Great choices on films, shots, and description, thanks!

HS Movie Club: 'Pontypool' Discussion

Aug 11th 2010 9:56PM (Horror Squad)
I don't know... i watched this one a few weeks ago and while the "zombie" onset intrigued me and worked well... it kinda lost its way imo when they started talking about the language and stuff. ya i get what they were trying to do but... i think maybe a more conventional zombie would have worked better, and he still could've figured out a secret of destroying them somehow and broadcast it... i dunno, imo a movie with a decent premise that kind of bit off more than it could chew.

Their Best Role: Matt Damon

My vote definitely goes to The Departed or Bourne. Can't say why, just a feeling.

Some Thoughts on the Trailer for 'The Town'

Jul 27th 2010 8:04PM (Cinematical)
its funny because there are a lot of good points being made in the comments, but im inclined to agree with the post, it says all the things i thought immediately after seeing the trailer.

time will tell but ya im pretty sure already that this movie will be just like that one about night with juakqueen fenix (jk), inside man, actually any denzel washington movie, or a million other movies that for some reason just lump themselves into the folder in my brain labelled "junk-ive-seen-before". this movie looks like the opposite of inception, action all the same but with nothing new coming to the table. i wont hate it, but you can bet i wont see it, and if i do you KNOW i wont enjoy it

Dissecting 'Inception': Six Interpretations and Five Plot Holes

Jul 20th 2010 9:28PM (Cinematical)
@Catherine thats one of the few parts where my mind can't remember back, I need to see it a second time. I think they just missed it, they were too late. I think they were even supposed to wake up from hitting the guardrail, because they were supposed to wake up from the hotel by being dropped, but plans had to change. They must have just had airtanks there as a failsafe in case they ran late.

Dissecting 'Inception': Six Interpretations and Five Plot Holes

Jul 20th 2010 9:00PM (Cinematical)
This should answer a bunch of questions:

A: The Kicks: Initially my first suspicion of a plothole. Dont you need to kicked a level above yourself to wake up? No! The tub woke him up from Saitos dream-in-a-dream in the beginning, and then the people in the train woke them up but only because there was NO sedation involved!

In real life, when you fall in a dream, you wake up... the kick happened on the level your consciousness was on. This is what keeps happening in the movie. Ellen Page jumps off limbo to get back to the snow level, where the explosion pushes them into the hotel, where the elevator physics push them into the van. But tell me if I'm wrong... everyone misses the van hitting the water, they were too late. The driver however, DID make it in time to hit the railing, so he simply wakes them up on the plane to pats on the back and handshakes all around.

And of course, Saito beats Leo to limbo when he dies in the snow place, and them offing themselves is what finally brings them back to the plane, all nice and sane.

B: Theories/interpretations 5 & 6, I believe, were the only 2 primarily intended takes on the story. That is why so much emphasis was placed on the top at the end. And it's why Mal hinted about the faceless corporations attacking Leo, to give you a look at the interpretation that it's all just Limbo that he's stuck in, brain slowly scrambling. And the argument that Michael Caine is a bigger player than he seems just because he's a big Hollywood name? I'm sure he just read the script, and they probably built a friendship during Batman and Batman, so Nolan just said "sure, hop on in here"

If you like my explanations and have more questions, ask away, i feel i both understand the movie, and also understand most of how Nolan wanted it to be seen. There is certainly a lot more depth to this movie than appears.

Ratings Race: 'Big Brother' Returns Strong, Takes Down 'Wipeout'

Jul 9th 2010 6:16PM (AOL TV)
Silly question that no one wants to hear, about a guy no one wants to hear any more about. But, it interests me.

How about the LeBron thing on ESPN? Any word on those ratings, particularly millions of viewers?

Here's Why 'Twilight' is Popular

May 28th 2010 5:55PM (Cinematical)
um wtf... you'll probably never read this reply, but i particularly like how you mention anger at speaking on something you know nothing about. its ironic because the blogger didnt make the video, just posted it because it is movie related; and the fat-and-ugly-male-blogger you speak of is actually a female so...

im all for responding with responsible opinions, but do you see how dumb your reply is? dumb.
