PSN reactivation delayed for 'further testing,' likely not coming back this week

@The Scout Re: Comparing PS3 failure rate to 360 failure rate = raging fanboy ... isn't that EXACTLY what you just did? talk about irony.

20 most annoying things at the grocery store

writing checks in the express lane. It's un-called-for. Grocery stores should have policies against writing checks in the express lane. One time I waited for 20 minutes while the clerk called the bank of the check because the automated computer system was timing out. What is the deal? it's 2010 not 1980, debit or GTFO.

Media Center CableCARDs freed from OEM requirement

This would not have happened without the work done by those who hacked the w/o. I think that Microsoft and CableLabs saw this as a hack that would have become mainstream after 2 to 3 years and decided to jump out in front of it.

Aug 18th 2009 5:10PM (Engadget)
I dont really understand what the nettop is for. I 'get' the netbooks, but the nettops seems like a weird and unnecessary concept. It's a desktop that you can use to listen to music, run lightweight apps, netbrowsing, read and write media from network storage, assuming that not a large amount of media is going to fit on its hard drive.

Am I getting this right? what advantage does this have over a traditional PC? Is it just supposed to be a low cost PC?

Upcoming Xbox 360 Netflix update is still gimped, Microsoft thinks you want it that way

Guys, Microsoft is just a company. It's not like they have all this time and resources to develop "software" that will do fancy things like "search".

The drivers don't run DX11. DX11 is an API that's part of the operating system. There are currently no Nvidia graphics chips that have DX11 features, so whether or not the drivers are DX11 compatible, is irrelevant. DX11 is an API that interfaces with the graphics chip to use certain code capabilities.
