Picture it: Joystiq before Vladimir Cole.

It was nice here, once upon a time.

Joyswag: A Castle Crashers tee for your thoughts

Sep 10th 2006 10:31PM (Joystiq)
Hm.. if I have any suggestions to make, I'd ask for a bit more enemy variety, though I'm unsure of how practical that would be given that, from what I hear, there's file size limitations for XBLA games. I'm not necessarily asking for more enemies that do different things (though that would be nice).. to attempt to elaborate on what I meant, let's say that instead of having 100 little guys in brown robes looking exactly the same, we have some that are a bit taller or shorter than others, some with faces partially exposed, and.. ok, I can't think of much variety for enemies that are concealed much of the time, but I believe I'm successfully making my point. Slightly varied facial features for other enemies would be nice, as well.

Of course, even if they didn't go through with this, they certainly wouldn't have the first beat-'em-up/hack-'n-slash to have "samey" lookin' enemies. Nor would I cry over it.

XBLA party in a box of one

This is saddening, as I too thought it was first come first serve, and I jumped on it before it was publicized everywhere.

Boo :(

Sub $50 Xbox 360 games announced, get 'em on the cheap

I'm pretty sure it was recently announced - or at least implied - that all versions of Rayman: Raving Rabbids would be delayed in an effort to polish and differentiate the Wii version.

Wal-Mart bargain bin update

Aug 11th 2006 4:41PM (Joystiq)
Just FYI, Wal-Mart clearances are very YMMV (your mileage may vary). Granted, a $20 game that hasn't struck Hits status yet is likely to be $20 at any other Wal-Mart with a gaming bargain bin, but anything below that is almost guaranteed not to be that price at any other Wal-Mart. About a year and a half ago, in my hometown of Hohenwald, TN, Donkey Konga with bongos was on sale for $15 - I found it fascinating, so I reported it on the CheapAssGamer forums. Turned out this wasn't going on anywhere else in the U.S. that anyone knew of. A similar sale in a nearby town did pop up a year later (Donkey Konga, $10, Savannah, TN) - but you get my point, likely.
