My only vague purpose in looking at these 3ds threads is hoping that they'll announce they've pulled their heads out of their asses on the region-encoding thing.

As someone who LITERALLY spends half the year in a different region than the other half and carries a DS with her, the console is useless to me if I can't buy games wherever I happen to be. While I own only a small number of Japanese games, I honestly don't know which of my other games came from the US and which came from the UK, I'd have to examine each box to find out. I have plenty of both.

At least the new console should mean I'll be able to clean up on cheap DS carts?

.... so, selling a million units is a complete failure in your opinion? How many baby games would they have to sell for you to consider it to have worked?

I loved Press Your Luck back in the day, but I don't understand what the point is of making home versions of chance-based game shows. You can't actually win anything! So... where's the fun?

If they were tied to some account you could win actual club nintendo tokens or something, that'd be different...

I have no objection to there being games about pajama parties and dressup and dolls, I even like that stuff sometimes. But I do object to this being represented as *everything* that's fun about being a girl... (Or to being fun for girls only! Don't boys jump on beds? And speaking of, how long until some concerned parent complains that jumping on the bed is dangerous?)

Will you be allowed to play both male and female characters? The press release language is entirely neutral, so I'd hope yes. (Simplest, of course, if the player character is practically nonexistent...)
