That is one thing I had forgotten about Star Wars Galaxies, that EVERYONE starts off neutral, and any race could join either the Alliance to Restore the Republic or the Galactic Empire (AND this went against lore, because technically only humans could join the Empire).
I'm not sure this could happen in WoW. Blizzard has cemented such an "us vs. them" aesthetic, but maybe we could have two "neutral" races? Like say...goblins and worgen?!
I'm labeled as a noob when i get PuGs together because I ditched my warrior at 55 for my DK. DK is just so much more fun for me. Unfortunately I have the same problem with aggro, except since the DK is my "main", I am automatically a "death knoob".
Let me go back to the first MMO I played, Star Wars Galaxies. If anyone remembers, the game had a huge emphasis on user created wares. Some great gear could be purchased from /gasp, an actual person!
There were generic "auction houses", but with (ready for it) player-housing, one could turn their house into a "store". A tailor/weaponsmith/armorsmith could buy a house and turn it into a "store" with the ability to display items on the walls of their store. Add a personal vendor machine and voila, professions and profiting from them were fun and awesome.
