Nov 24th 2011 10:46AM (Joystiq)I'm resisting the urge to call you an idiot outright. Cut the ominous "The govt is out to get you "crap. Read the bill. It is talking specifically to copyrighted materials, such as games, art, or music. Also, if you know and understand law making, bills get sent back and forth from the house to the senate until it's a bill that can hold its own. It's the fact that hackers want to download it that proves loss of sales. If before the only way was to buy it and you had 300,000 people buying it, but the next time the game was posted online and only 250,000 people bought it, it's a loss of sales estimates. There's no way to set a number on how much a game will be worth each time it is sold, but when someone gets it for free, ZERO profit is getting to those who made the game. But I guess in your book, buying a brand new car from someone who bought only ONE and made their own carbon copy and sold it to thousands wouldn't be stealing either. And you need a little food for thought. Try this out.

Nintendo, EA, Sony sponsor Internet censorship bill [update]
Nov 21st 2011 4:25PM (Joystiq)Which part, where I talk about how a flawed political system I've experienced keeps basic information accessible from its citizens (nothing close to this bill), or the part in which I say it's illegal to download games you haven't payed for in the first place? Or maybe I should have stated that the right to pirate video games isn't covered in free speech or in any law the constitution has within it. That clear things up for you?
