Class Action Connect offers lawsuit against Bungie for Halo's missing pixels

Dec 8th 2007 5:24PM (Joystiq)
Actually it's not an 80 pixel loss, it's a 193,280 pixel loss. Remember that resolution in pixels is determined by multiplying the width by the height.

1280 TIMES 720 (HD 720)= 921,600 pixels
1138 TIMES 640 (Halo 3)= 728,320 pixels
Net loss of 193,280 pixels.

From the referenced linked article:
[*Note: We define "HD" as a resolution no less than 1280x720 pixels. According to the source, Halo 3 has a native resolution of 1138x640 pixels.]

Product placement - the anti-TiVo

Mar 22nd 2007 9:41PM (AOL TV)
There was a remarkable bit of product placement in last night's episode of CSI:NY...while investigating a crime scene in a wine cellar there was a suspiciously long and lingering shot of Duracell batteries being put into flashlights. It stuck out like a sore thumb.

The Apprentice: Los Angeles: To Have and Have Not (season premiere)

Jan 8th 2007 2:07AM (AOL TV)
I didn't mind the show too much, but I have to say that whoever was responsible for designing the monstrosity that is the candidates' mansion should be strung up by their thumbs. Trump's mansion is beautiful, an incredible hilltop view, but I would guess being next door to the giant green shoebox doesn't do a whole lot for property value...

In case you missed those cool Star Wars floats - VIDEO

Actually, I think the rocket man on Oklahoma's float was far more interesting..

A good friend of mine had a recurring role on this show. We have no end of fun mocking him about it.

No ColecoVision?!?!

Messin' with the bull, gettin' the horns

You should really try Coke's Full Throttle drink...it's all the same fun without the medicine taste and I could drink them constantly if they weren't so pricy. The biggest problem with drinking Full Throttle is how often they're completely sold out! If you're in the same boat, try Home Depot where you can buy them by the case!

Numb3rs: The Mole

Oct 14th 2006 10:27PM (AOL TV)
Actually, this episode might have finally made the decision to stop watching for me. The leaps of logic are becoming increasingly broad.

The first absurdity was that he could tell she had been hit by an accelerating vehicle with nothing more than the body. I don't buy it.

And then the information buried in the pictures. Fine, that I can buy...but you can't "zoom in" on pixels of an image until they're huge blocks and discover fully formed asian characters within a pixel. That's not how steganography works. The way it DOES work IS all about math, but they chose to use thios complete falsification of the decoding process. Where were the esteemed math consultants when this segment was laid out?

And what kind of cop turns his back on an armed bad guy who only moments earlier was about to shoot him and walks blissfully away, REGARDLESS of how many others have the suspect covered?? Wow, that's cool.

This show is really stretching to meet its concept and the absurdity is making it hard to buy into the stories.

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip: The West Coast Delay

Oct 10th 2006 2:15AM (AOL TV)
This was a great episode...made even better by the fact that during the show on stolen comedy routines NBC ran a promo for the Tonight Show featuring Tina Fey of 30 Rock cracking a joke I >know< I've heard recently on a late-night talk show about having a baby being like having a drunk midget in your house. I think it may have been Billy Bob Thornton? True irony.
