I'm sorry TUAW, I just downloaded the game because you recommended it and it had a funny name but.. Holy cow that was the worst iPhone game I've played in a long time...
this is a pretty silly post... thats a very ugly looking iphone, theres just something very flat and unappealing about it.. best just left on youtube really..
I pretty much came to this conclusion after setting up my Boss's Blackberry. Its such an utter mess and might as well be WinMo 1.0
I dont mean to be an apple prophet but the truly powerful features of the iphone was the thought behind the user interface in all kinds of apps (ie the black tab buttons, the forward and backward page transitions). The winmo home screen looks interesting but how will this integrate exactly with apps? Is it over-complicating a simple process? How is this 'more human' than just going back and forth ala iPhone?
I'm just gonna come out and say it: this is just Microsoft being Microsoft. They've done this many times before, making something "cool" vs. making something successfull. This is completely reminescent of windows vista. Its not enough to just make something prettier and different. The important feature which everyone seems to be neglecting is how well it will integrate with workflow. Sure it has some nice 'tile' features ect. but the actually important questions are: what kind of framework is there for software? Where is the app store and how does it operate? Are apps going to come from an app store or do you have to go to 100 different websites and download them yourself? What kind of uniformity is there? Where are the answers to the real questions?
