HTC HD2 makes first official appearance in O2 UK catalog

Oct 3rd 2009 3:28PM (Engadget)
@level 5

actually, i think verizon will be changing to GSM. verizon is 45% owned by vodafone. although 45% isn't a controlling share of the company, vodafone has still been pressing them to go GSM. verizon has decided to move to a GSM network to appease vodafone.

basically what that means is you could be seeing these phones coming to verizon in the future.

HTC HD2 (aka, Leo) launching on O2 UK October 12th?

Sep 24th 2009 8:54PM (Engadget)
i just want to point out, as quite a few people who have posted a comment doesn't seem to know, the HTC leo/HD2 has a capacitive screen so NO stylus.

it's true that WM 6.5 doesn't support multi-touch, but HTC have coded the functionality into their phone UI anyway. it also means that 6.5 has be designed to be finger-friendly as of course you can't use a stylus with the phone, so would be pretty hard when going into windows mobile proper to use the damn thing. there is no such problem with 6.5. ;)

Forza 3 welcomes 1000-horsepower Bugatti Veyron supercar

SSC Ultimate Aero. worst name for a sports car ever.

you know what it reminds me of?

when i was a kid and my mum bought me a really cheap toy car. you know the ones that aren't modelled on any particular real-life sports car, it's just a very generic sports car type design? it sort of copies the look a little of real sports cars, but ends up looking like a bit of everything?

even the name though... it's just like one of those real cheap toy cars you got as a kid. SSC Ultimate Aero... lol

american car companies really do need to learn how to design a car.

oh and something else i want to bring up. the raw numbers are one thing, but how it performs around a track is another. you know the veyron was beaten around the top gear test track by a zonda. slower car, but much lighter and faster around corners. it would be interesting to know how the aero performs around a track.

actually, reading through some of the comments and your previous comments, i think i've jumped on you a little. LOL

it was also the girl that commented after you that i picked up on as well

"I'm also a woman finding it frustrating to comment in a sea of woman and fat hating comments."

i just assumed you were both singing from the same hymn sheet as the feminists so speak. :/

anyway, there are some silly comments on this thread. it is only reactionary to the original view that this game is sexist though. i wouldn't take it to heart. :/

LOL

i actually think you've missed the point a little. by double standards i was talking in the context of what is perfectly acceptable for men to be seen as, and what is acceptable for women to be seen as. it wasn't specifically aimed at YOU.

i was just explaining to you why men would look at this whole thing as totally lame, that's all. it's not an irrational viewpoint.

the comments on this blog are not directly aimed at the female gender as a whole, it's just a reaction to these two silly feminists and their ridiculous comments.

oh, come off it.

labelling male gamers as "woman-haters" is absolutely absurd. since when do you hear, "i'm not interested in forming a relationship with a girl because i HATE women"? LOL

why would you hate someone you love?

a good analogy would be watching an advert where a man is being beat up by a woman, or another one would be an advert where the man is portrayed as being incredibly stupid. now the whole intention of those kind of adverts would probably be to create light-hearted and humourous feel to the advert. how many men do you think would complain about it? i mean really?

now lets reverse that and say the advert was portraying a woman being beat up by a man, or in some way showing women in a bad-light. don't you think every feminist would be outraged?

modern-feminists spend a large amount of time telling us how they can do everything men can do, almost to the length of saying that the only really difference between men and woman is the sex organs. why then should women complain when it's perfectly acceptable for men to be portrayed in that way? isn't that double standards and pure hypocrisy?

that's why it's ridiculous and that's why you're getting a load of male gamers trolling them. ;)

Sony denies PS2 downloads on PSN, image 'mocked up'

Jul 1st 2008 12:20PM (Joystiq)
@foxhound

well, first of all, it's just a possible explanation for it. however, there are going to be people who have MGS4, but haven't played any other MGS game. people who only have the 40gig PS3 are going to be stuck. for that reason, i'm sure there is a market for it.

MGS4 is kind of the sequel to MGS2 which has actually been mentioned before somewhere, so releasing that particular game on PSN makes sense.

hmmm...

it might be fake, but interestingly enough, i don't see PS2 mentioned anywhere.

my point is, the guy shoots down claims that PS2 titles will be made available for download, but maybe it's not actually a "PS2" title, maybe it's a full version of MGS2 available for download on "PS3".

if konami made a port of the game, then it wouldn't make any difference what version of PS3 you have. it would make perfect sense after the release of MGS4 to make earlier titles available as well.

Oh BTW, Square Enix has 'lineup' of Xbox 360 titles

May 25th 2008 11:13AM (Joystiq)
yeah... i think it's actually quite likely there are other titles in the works for the 360.

infinite undiscovery and last remnant aren't actually being made by the square side of the company. and well. square made their intentions very clear when they revealed the new 'white-engine'.

as you all may already know, the new white engine is in fact a multi-platform engine, which is actually a big deal for square as it's the first engine they've created that is specifically designed with different platforms in mind. in simple terms, that means the white engine will work just as well on the 360 as it does on the PS3.

now square wouldn't of wasted time and money making the white engine multi-platform if they didn't have plans for creating games on the 360 in mind.
