Insomniac Games joins EA Partners for new PS3 and Xbox 360 project

Strangely enough, most of the new PC games I buy are $50 ... $10 cheaper than "current-gen" systems, and the games look and typically play better.

How is this a bad thing? I'd love to -- next generation -- buy one freaking system. The only person who wins here is the consumer.

About damn time? You'd prefer a rushed piece of shit to the masterpiece that will be Civ V? Come on! The six years will be worth it, and I can say to this very day that I get my worth out of Civ IV (BTS).

I literally almost came when I saw this news this afternoon.

As far as the argument about having to delete games and magically losing them, that's now how it works. See: http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/4117/steamrf.png

And BananaBoat, I'm not saying Gamefly isn't a good company that's bound to do well for a few years, but long term investment, it isn't that great. It takes a long time to make money on the stock market, and most investors don't waste their time with short term.

look at Steam's numbers (those they actually give us) and tell me different.

If you honestly believe that we'll be buying physical by 2020, then I ... well I ... I just disagree!

This is where our opinions differ. Once MS and Sony can get it together and offer new games first day (much like steam), I don't see any reason why people would drive to the store if they can pre-purchase and the game automatically activates at midnight.

That said, there is a market for Gamefly, but as far as investing in it: it may be good short term, but anyone who invests goes for the long term. Long term, GF isn't a good investment. It's like investing in VHS when the first DVDs began coming out.

Probably not a good buy at this point. Maybe in 2007, but with digital distribution, physical media rental, whether movies or games, is the dodo. If not now, eventually.
