Meet the Alienator (Or, if you prefer, Predamorph)

Jun 23rd 2007 5:43AM (Cinematical)
I think the name for the hybrid was already mentioned by the first "Alien vs Predator" 3rd person shooter for pc. The game called it "Predalien".

Rockstar reveals Manhunt 2 for the PS2, PSP, and ... Wii

Why are they doing this. I've got nothing against mature content in great games like the GTA franchise...but this? That's just fuel for the fires of all those blind video game haters out there and I don't see that's helpfull in any way.
Therefore I sincerly hope they just want to swim on the buzz around the titel and go a different way with the game. But if this will be anything like the first one....man that would be so sad.

Sony could be on a nonstop course for Segaville

The answer to the question: "Why is Sony or any other console producer fighting against homebrew?" is simple I guess: The price of the console, even being 600€ is not enough to pay for the development and make shareholders happy.
The money comes through the software, the games. If Sony would be allowing homebrew from the start, software sales would crash down massivly, because videogamers are for the most part well aware of filesharing and getting stuff for free and the first iso bootloader would be out there like 3 seconds after the release of the console.
So what if Sony sold 2 versions: One locked as ever and one completely open to homebrew...but at a price that would meet costs..something around 2000€ maybe? Would customers be happier? Can't really say. I mean...stealing software remains illegal. Not that homebrew is all about playing rips but ...pls.
One thing's for sure, something has to change and that is not limited to videogames. It is the same with movies, music, books, software.... .
