Sony is obviously is most danger of losing market share; in this department, they only have one direction in which to go.
And it seems near-obvious that Nintendo has the buzz necessary to build share this time around. They're starting off at a pretty-low 14%. (If they're profitable now, imagine them at 25% share!) :P
MS could go either way, it seems. I'm being totally wishy-washy here, but I think that this next year's games release schedule will determine whether or not they take another $4 billion bath..
Riiight. If Nintendo gets so much as an economic sniffle, idiots begin spouting this B.S. left and right.
These are the same folks who are dying to play Nintendo games - but who won't dare buy the systems they're on. Too bad, bitches. You want some Mario, Samus, & Link time? You know where to go.
Interesting. If Sony blows it, then suddenly Nintendo has a shot at dominating Japan while MicroSoft could have an upper hand in the States. The playing field would certainly shift, but to what degree and for whom overall.. we don't know.
I do wish harm on some companies. They keep turning-out the same sh!t year after year: same
boring alien-invasion/govt-conspiracy/WWII FPSes, same rip-off sports games, same crappy street thug games.
With the stakes higher than ever in this coming generation ($20 million to develop an AAA title!), I'm going to enjoy watching some eggs get cracked. The only way that companies will learn a lesson and change what they make (and whom they make for) is if they feel financial PAIN.

Gates should just give-up and fork-over $4 billion to charity.

Those are three that I plan on buying; I might add one or two more.
And I confess.. I've never played Super Smash Bros. So that game will close-out the last few months of this generation for me..
