I spent a good portion of my college classtime programming number guessing games into my old TI. Pretty simple stuff... input a number and it tells you if you're too high or too low. It did, however, provide stats at the end such as number of guesses and a ranking.
I'd love to know more, but both of the links in the post leading outside of Joystiq are blocked here at work. Reason? "One or more categories denied helper='WebBlocker-Out' details='Games'"
But here I am happily enjoying my lunch-hour with Joystiq, which apparently does not have "Games" related content. Hmm.
So, my question to non-blocked readers is this: Does Georgia's proposed public service announcement program utilize public funds (i.e. taxpayer dollars) for this parental education program?
I still remember the first time I saw that ad. I've never been so excited to share a piece of video with my friends. Thanks for bringing this one back, Autoblog!
Carl Winslow should earn a few stars for his comment.
As for me, I admit I do it for the eye candy on occasion. Tekken, The Sims, and Tiger Woods (mentioned earlier) come immediately to mind. I plated Sims Online as a female as an experiment, and the treatment from others was noticeably different (free money, roommate offers, marriage proposals, etc.)
Basically, I tend to go female in any game that has a robust character creation process. It's way more fun to play build-a-babe than it is to create some dude. And isn't "fun" what gaming is all about?
The Power-Pad flat out sucked. How many of us ended up kneeling behind it and hitting the pad with our hands drum-style to win the 100 meter dash? Or score an insane long jump? That is my only memory of that infernal peripheral.
Over-the-top liberal outrage in the New York Times? Impossible. I'm sure Dick Cheney and "Big Oil" also had something to do with this new Hummer/McD's promotion... we'll have to wait for the unbiased investigative report.

Will Xbox 360 games require HD-DVD add-on? [update 1]
Aug 16th 2006 3:27PM (Joystiq)No, it won't happen. Not unless the install base is gigantic for the add-on in another year.
