EA, hackers win big off FIFA Ultimate Team

Feb 2nd 2012 1:46PM (Joystiq)
@Cranky Penguin

What does Mass Effect 3 have to do with overpriced DLC in sports titles? All the ME2 DLC packs were well worth the couple of bucks they cost. All except the cosmetic packs, and those were just that...cosmetic.

So I'm failing to see a correlation here. Oh, and as a sidenote, Bioware retains control over their IPs, so any DLC made for ME3, is done on Bioware's own agenda. So if there's shitty DLC, blame Bioware.

Xbox Live 'FIFA hack' concerns continue to escalate, Microsoft states Windows Live ID not compromised

Except, if you read into the story a bit more, these hackers have been able to change passwords. Microsoft is hiding something. It happened to me, and I'm an extremely tech savvy person, I change my password frequently (almost once a month).

After my account was locked by Microsoft, they asked me to change my password. I did. To something nowhere close to any other passwords I use. It was hacked and changed the next day.

You're telling me you don't have a single game on Steam? Then why did you ever care about this deal if you didn't have any games to begin with?

I can proudly say I +1'd everyone here (except the guy we're replying to obviously). A rarity these days.

What's so complicated? You click a link, it shows a list of things you can do to potentially earn free games, and you do them.

Or you could just buy games and ignore the potential to earn free shit from playing games...

You sound like you're complaining just to complain.

Richard Garriott predicts the death of consoles as a gaming medium

Did I ever state console gaming is dying? Did you ever think that they could co-exist? I love how everyone's so quick to jump at me with accusations of pc fanboyism when that's far from the truth as I have all three consoles, and play them all pretty equally. Yes, I enjoy pc games moreso, but consoles have their advantages as well.

He just stated 2 weeks ago that MMOs are slowly dying...and now he wants to make one? Yeah, lost all credibility there buddy.

Ironically, BF3 has performed/gotten more attention on PC than consoles, so it was a very valid example. The Witcher 2 won't do well on Xbox, it simply is not console-oriented.

And you are the one not well if you truly believe the PC doesn't have a ton of AAA exclusives.

I just half expected a somewhat educated conversation/discussion being on...well...you know, Massively? Not in a console article where console fans will flock.

But I guess the ignorant will stay ignorant and believe their beloved consoles will forever rule the day. (I like consoles, I like the games exclusive to them, but the PC exclusives, and playing games on PC is a far better experience overall.)

In another two years, according to market analysts, PC gaming will have taken the forefront.

But everyone in here (A pc section of Joystiq, nonetheless) seem to be ignorant console fans, uneducated about the game industry and how it's markets work.
