May 23rd 2006 5:19PM (Joystiq Playstation)While it was good, and it had it's moments that I really liked, I just didn't find it the best. The gameplay on the other hand was annoying. I didn't like the junction system all that much.
While it's true it's one of the more customizable systems, I like the idea of certain characters being better at certain things than others. It gives the characters more of their own personality.

May 23rd 2006 4:40PM (Joystiq Playstation)Like I said, this is my opinion. I also believe that FFXI is a great game, and other don't share my enthusiasm for it. If you actually do the missions, see the cutscenes, and experience the story in FFXI you'll know that it has a very deep story and history. No one gives it the time though.

May 23rd 2006 3:21PM (Joystiq Playstation)As for Versus IGN has this: "Kitase chimed in with some comments on the Online prospects for the other two titles. The main FFXIII game may have some Online elements, although Online play won't be the main part of the title. Tetsuya Nomura made it clear that Versus is not being designed as an Online title, and that the chances of Online support are low."
Agito will be completely online, FFXIII will have components, and Versus will not even have components.
To join the conversation in the comments, I notice that not a single person has mentioned a pre-FFVII game. I personally think that FFVII is over rated, FFVIII was a dissapointment (I'm not saying VII and VIII weren't good, cause they were, just not as good as people say). The only game on the PSOne that was really good was FFIX. Please remember that Square made games before FFVII, even Square forgets that sometimes. FFVI was probaly one of the best, if not the best Final Fantasy games of all time (imho).

PS3 online play is free?
May 21st 2006 4:08PM (Joystiq Playstation)If that will really happen? No one knows. Sony hasn't given any details on it yet. Once they do we will know. They'll tell us before it's released, just be patient. I would really hope for it to be free though.

PS3 dominates Japanese mind
May 18th 2006 5:50PM (Joystiq Playstation)It all depends on taste. The Japanese market will buy whatever system has the type of games they like on it. The same goes for the American and European markets.

PS3 dominates Japanese mind
May 18th 2006 3:38PM (Joystiq Playstation)I'm sure the Japanese are looking forward to the PS3 though. Japanese gamers are more of an RPG group, which would explain why Final Fantasy XIII and Dragon Quest are also in that list.
The Xbox 360 is not on the top of gamers minds because they don't like FPS and racing games nearly as much as us Americans/Europeans (I read somewhere, I think on Joystiq, that Japanese gamers don't like the idea of not being able to see your character when you play).
I'm not saying that the 360 ONLY has FPS and Racing games, and I'm not saying that the PS3 ONLY has RPGs. I'm just saying that the general trend for those consoles shows that they have more of those types of games than the other.
