I'm willing to bet companies like GoG (googoldgaming.com) who advertise NO DRM in our games, are doing just fine. Sure most of the prices on there are low, but the point is that people are willing to PAY and not pirate when you make a good product and don't add invasive and draconian DRM.
I'd love to open up my wallet and buy The Witcher 2 as the first one was quite good, however if you follow in UBIsoft's footsteps with this crap you can count me out.
I'm sure when the protesting was done about how these media products are wrong for corrupting their children, they drove them home blasting gangsta rap.
Although I'm no expert at predicting sales outcomes, from my experiences working in a warehouse with alot of gamers, most already have a 360 or have intentions of getting one. Others have expressed interest in the Wii. Very few have said they intend on buying a PS3. I am not intending on buying any of them for at least the first six months of their lifecycle. As long as the PS3 remains in the $500+ range, sales will be dismal.
Once the years pass and that comes down then they may hit a good stride. If blue ray fails as the next format then there will be serious hurdles to overcome. Here's to hoping for a healthy market to support all 3 to some degree to stimulate competition and let us consumers come out the winners.
I can't think of any excuse for oversights like this. I'm willing to bet most XBox 360 owners still play on SDTV effectively ruining the experience for most people who purchase this game. I don't own a 360 but if I did I'd be pretty ticked about this.
One of my favorite things to do in Anarchy Online was to dress my male character in female clothing to watch the crazy reactions in towns. Some people were really off-put by it and would freak out. It was hilarious.
