Vita sales drop below 3DS, PSP in Japan

Dec 28th 2011 12:28PM (Joystiq)
@daevv

Considering the Vita borrows a lot of idea's from smart phones, I think Sony really didn't mind the 1 PSN account thing because usually with smart phones it's 1 account.

iPhones only let you tie 1 iTunes account to them. Ya know?

With enough customer requests though, it'll get a firmware update to support it.

Mine smells like cheese burgers. Really, just large, unhealthy amounts of cheese burgers.

*Sigh* Still no Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

I am the only person in the world waiting for this game to come out.

Huge fan of the show.

@Spike941

What I am trying to say is, where was all this effort when the PSP was seriously suffering from piracy? I loved my PSP, but with all the piracy on it, it made a lot of developers not want to develop games for it. Then I was playing my PSP less and less because a lack of games coming out on it.

I am not saying this is the right way to handle the issue, but what I am saying is that strong effort is being shown. And I support that so the PS3 can be protected and I can play it for another 4 years hack free.

There's no need to name call and label me an idiot. I am on the right site. We can all be a community and love Joystiq and have open, mature discussions.

What's worse is, I used to like Hotz. Say what you will about him, but he's a very talented guy, he's just using his talent the wrong way here.

Unlocking the iPhone for everyone so they can use the great product on their service was an accomplishment.

Jailbreaking the PS3 to run "Non-official" code, is not.

Granted his unlock on the iPhone led to piracy as well (which he didn't encourage) but the way he is handling the Sony situation and in his interviews he's really coming off as just a straight ass. Like he's giving a big "F U" to the Gaming community.

I'm extremely happy that Sony is taking this very seriously. It shows that as a company, they have grown up and learned from their mistakes (A la PSP)

I'm glad they are taking strong initiative, to the users on PSN who use the jailbreak, and the man that unleashed it.

I'm kind of glad they stayed away from big PlayStation branding.

With PlayStation Suite I just think of this as an Android phone, with a PlayStation advantage.

I am loving the idea and concept of this game, but I am just saddened by the fact that I just can't help but think this game is gonna blow.

Also, they should have designed Sly like he is in his games. They gave him a realistic look in this, and it looks a little off. Would've been awesome if all 3 retained their exact design and looks but all were together.

@Weirdo7293 Super seconded.

I love Uncharted as much as the next guy, but I love Jak & Daxter more.

They were truly classic master pieces to me. I played the hell out Jaks 1-3. And Daxter of course, which was an excellent tie in between 1 and 2.

@The Joy of Cooking DeMat

I don't think there is anything Sony can do in order to 'beat' the 3DS.

I mean as it stands, hardware wise and features and connectivity, PSP2 is looking to blow 3DS out of the water, in the eyes of us.

But in the eyes of the casual market (Which out number actual Gamers) they will see 3DS as their beloved family DS system, with 3D (Which of course is the new trend sweeping the nation).

I think what Sony knows that the 3DS simply will outdo the PSP2 just as the DS did to the PSP, and what's worse is everyone is going to call it a failure just as they did with the PSP even though we all see this thing as much better then the 3DS.

But in the end, I am just babbling, and neither system is even out yet. So we play the waiting game.
