I think the service is worth paying for, but why not include a free 1 to 2 - month live gold membership with each new game you buy. I think it would encourage gamers to buy new games instead of used games and also make more money for developers and M$.
I also think having the gold membership helps M$ determine the level support needed for online gaming. They don't need to waste money building a system that could support, for example, 10 million online gamers when only 3 million are interested in doing it. Sony may be learning this the hard way with Home.
Bruce Banner is suppose to be a bit of a dork and if anyone can play a dork, it's Ed Norton. I think the Hulk may have problems for other reasons. According to a Fortune magazine article:
"The Incredible Hulk has been plagued by infighting. Marvel hired the famously temperamental Edward Norton to play Banner and to rewrite the script. By all accounts, the star clashed with the higher ups at Marvel. Now he isn't participating in the company's publicity drive for the movie."
"And truth be told there are STILL plenty of ignorant black folk who really think its cool to be a "thug" or act mad ghetto at every freaking moment of their lives."
Uh, there are "ignorant" folks of every race and people of every race pretending to be "thugs". In many cases these "ignorant" people are a product of a poor school system and a bad socio-economic situation.
Anyway, why are people getting so upset about this media story? It just media piece, a interesting story. I'm sure it wasn't meant to upset anyone. Also, let's face it, much of the media coverage is negative in general and arguably more so against African-Americans. I.e., the black athlete that spends his money at a strip club, get's much more coverage then the black athlete that gives large somes of money to charities and to help their communities. No one wants to hear that story. Some of you who are insulted by this story, should be much more insulted by the negative media story. But you're not, your okay with the negative and insulted by the positive. Can someone tell me why?
I don't think Sony knows who their PS3 target audience is anymore. They were changing their business strategy every few months, now it seems like every couple of weeks. Sony should get a do-over. They should come out with an announcement that the PS3 was an just an experiment, have every one pretend it never happened and then announce the PS4, but with a different name, like the PS 720 or the PS Us.
And how is the average consumer is suppose to figure this out? The mothers and grandmothers buying for the kids this Christmas are suppose to know this. With the 360, it's no hard drive, a hardrive, or a bigger hardrive, that's it. All systems can be upgraded or downgraded(and no HDMI is not an upgrade, it adds no additional functionality).
