Full House Poker offers Windows Phone 7 connectivity

Mar 16th 2011 11:32AM (Joystiq)
The AI on this is weak. I was just playing it on my lunchbreak.
Actually, it's not even AI, the CPU doesn't even pretend not to know what the outcome will be.

either it decides it will definitely win, or it decides to let you have some money, and it's up to you to eke out as much as possible.

Things like 1, max 2 players not folding each hand and then going all in on ace 7 suited before the flop only to come out with ace hich flush does not happen in poker.

Plus, there's no way to fool them into predicting what hand you have. Because they already know exactly what you have.

The WP7 version is poker with the statistical analysis and nothing else.

Interesting...

But I have an N64 anyway, and 1 friend who owns a Wii.

Tesla planting electric engines into two Toyota prototype bodies

Aug 6th 2010 7:50AM (Engadget)
@questionexclamation

Ford had to get bailed out by the US goverment right? And they needed to drastically alter their business model, because it was outmoded right? Talk about stuck in the 80's.
Tesla have made breakthroughs already in battery technology, but do you think that if we just sit around and wait, someone is just going to stumble across better battery technology? No, it's the same as with any technology. If we listened to you we'd be perpetually waiting 6 months for "something better" to happen.

The reason Auto makers aren't releasing electric vehicles, is that it takes time to set up an entire infrastucture. One of the shortcuts they can make is licensing Tesla's battery technology, because it's better than anything that they could make without investing a shitload of time and money (which they are probably starting to do now anyway).

And "because there's still oil out there", yeah and it's all in the gulf of Mexico wiseguy. What are you going to do in 8 years time when oil is so scarce they're charging $20 a litre for it? Dip a bucket in the sea? Good luck with your projected cost of oil there.

Squeezebox Touch unboxed and in the wild

What is this? It just streams music and radio? Why can't you just use a PC in the first place? (And I mean that out of interest)

Assuming you already have a TV, this is what I'd do (well, what I have done)
PC in bedroom = £free (worth maybe £200? probably less)
Wireless router = £free with broadband
Xbox360 = £50
120gb HD (for the Xbox) = £50
Network adaptor = £35
Windows 7 candidate edition = £free, Preordered release version for £50
Wireless keyboard for PC = £30?

With that stuff, I can play whatever I want in two rooms (although WMC does take a while to connect on the 360).
And if you factor in the tuners and the 1tb HD in my PC (an extra £100 now, though I paid more) you get recorded TV, and Tivo style functionality.

I mean I might be wrong, but isn't that a better solution?

PlayOn media server now serving Wii customers (in beta, anyway)

Media center PC + 360 is pretty good, but a little slow to respond. Does what I want it to do, and I don't care about 1080p.

Or you could pick up a second hand pc, a 32" TV, at least one dual tuner card and a 1TB drive for less than that.

I hate him for ostensibly ruining Transformers by just being in it. He's probably a nice guy in reality. And given what I've heard about him, he probably said it in jest. Hell, I own about damn... probably about 20 consoles including handhelds, and the Wii happens to be one of them
